SEXPOT SUNSHINE GUIMARY HAPPY TO DO A WHOLESOME MOVIE, 'HELLO, UNIVERSE', HER FIRST FOR KIDS & TO BE SHOWN ON THE BIG SCREEN

SUNSHINE GUIMARY is back in circulation in the new movie “Hello, Universe” where she plays the wife of lead actor Janno Gibbs.

A lot of people thought she lied low because of her love life after doing three films with Vivamax: “Kaka”, “Shoot Shoot Di Kita Titigilan” and “House Tour”. She didn’t have any new movie last year because “House Tour” was released in late 2021.

“Hindi naman ako nag-lie low dahil sa lovelife,” she says at the presscon of “Hello, Universe”.

“May projects naman ako, pero nauudlot, for one reason or another.

"Itong ‘Hello, Universe’, ginawa namin last year, pero ngayon lang ipapalabas kasi gusto ng Viva to release it sa mga sinehan kasi maganda yung movie, inspirational comedy na very wholesome and may magandang message about life.

"And for the projects na hindi natutuloy, ganun talaga. I just accept na if it’s not meant for me, di hindi talaga.”

Someone quipped that she must be feeling insecure since so many new Viva sexpots were introduced last year.

“Oh no, I don’t feel insecure at all. The truth is I am happy for them.

"I never see my Viva co-stars as competition. I’m really proud of them kasi ang hirap kayang mag-locked in shooting noong kasagsagan ng pandemic.”

She says she’s just happy that she has work during the pandemic.

“Yung iba walang trabaho, pero ako nagkaroon ng mga pelikula. Na-experience ko yung hirap mag-shoot noong kasagsagan ng lockdowns.

"Lahat ng bawal sa shooting, naranasan ko. Nagbaon na ko ng rice cooker, supplies at kung anu-ano pa. May nag-positive sa shooting, but I’m glad we survived it all.”

So competing with other stars is definitely not a priority for her.

“Let’s just be happy na Viva is showing a new movie every week, lalo na sa panahong maraming taga-film industry ang nawalan ng trabaho.

"So kailangan nila talaga ng maraming bagong artista, para hindi paulit-ulit ang casting. Ang dami nilang nabigyan ng trabaho and that’s a big blessing. ”

She’s so glad that “Hello, Universe” is being released in theaters.

“Oh yes, kasi yung first three movies ko, they were all shown sa streaming platform on Vivamax.

"So this time, natutuwa ako kasi sa sinehan kami ipapalabas and at long last, mapapanood ko na ang sarili ko on the big screen, di ba? At dahil wholesome ito, puede na rin akong mapanood ng batang viewers.”

“Hello, Universe” is also more wholesome compared to the sexy movies she did before.

“Yes, as the wife of Janno, wala naman kaming love scenes dito, but may pa-sexy pa rin ng konti sa mga outfits ko. May bedscene kami, pero comedy ang dating.”

How is it working with more veteran actors like Janno and Anjo Yllana?

“I had fun with them kasi ang babait nila sa akin. They never made me feel na baguhan lang ako compared to them.

"They are both givers, even sharing tips with me about doing comedy, so I’m thankful na nakatrabaho ko sila.”

And how about Xian Lim as their director?

“Ang sarap pala na ang director mo, actor din like Xian Lim. He’s so relaxed, hindi nagagalit o naninigaw sa set.

"He’s very considerate sa shooting and he really helped me. He’s very talented and I’m glad I got the chance to work with him.

"Sana masundan pa. Suwerte sa kanya sa Kim Chiu, na Cebuana ring katulad ko kaya sisters kami. Suwerte sila sa isa’t isa.”
