QUINN CARILLO DOES MULTI-TASKING IN VIVAMAX 'SHOWROOM' AS ITS SCREENWRITER & ALSO ONE OF ITS LEAD STARS

QUINN CARILLO started as part of the girl group Bella Donnas then she branched out into acting and now, she’s also an in demand scriptwriter.

She plays one of the leads in Vivamax’ sexy drama about rival sales agents, “Showroom”, the screenplay of which, she also wrote.

In “Showroom”, she plays a Liezl, an enterprising young woman who aspires to be the top sales agent in selling high-rise condo units.

Despite being articulate and good in expressing herself, Liezel seems to be missing something in her selling techniques as she is not making any sales and hasn’t sold a single unit.

And then came Susan, as played by Rob Guinto, a newly hired sales agent who’s a provinciana with poor communication skills.

Liezl makes fun of her for being bad at conversing in English but, much to her surprise, Susan quickly sells several units and is on her way to being the company’s top sales agent.

As maybe expected, this makes Liezl so envious of Susan and curious on how she does it.  She then spies on Susan and discovers her secret to success.

Liezl finds out that Susan uses her body and sleeps with her potential clients so they’ll buy condo units from her.

Liezl confronts Susan about this and Susan tells her not to be so judgmental as she is a single mom and breadwinner of her family.

Soon, Liezl finds herself doing the same thing, after her perspective changed due to some unwanted circumstances.

A rivalry between the two begins as they fight over clients and race against each other to be on the top sales spot.

The movie is directed by Carlo Obispo, acclaimed for serious drama films, and this is his first venture into Vivamax sexy flicks. So how is Direk Carlo in “Showroom”?

“Direk Carlo is very collaborative,” says Quinn. “Since I wrote the script, marami kaming inasikaso sa rewriting nito and I’ve learned a lot from him.

"Pati sa delivery ng lines namin ng co-stars ko and in doing the sex scenes, he respects our decisions and requests kapag may suggestion kami.

"But sa execution ni Direk Carlo, you will really focus more on the storytelling and not just the intimate scenes, which are all related to the story at hindi basta inilagay lang sa movie para magka-sexy scenes.”

How did she write script about real estate sales agents?

“I did research about the material then interviewed real agents to find out more about their world.

"In my role as Liezl, hindi ako maka-relate sa character ko kasi ibang-iba siya from me in real life.

"So nahirapan ako, but it helps that I was the one who wrote the script and so I have an idea on how I should interpret and execute her. I do hope nagawa ko naman siya nang maayos.”

It’s her first time to do real steamy bedscenes and she talked to Direk Carlo about it.

“My personal request kay Direk was paalisin yung relatives ko, kasi nakabantay sa set ang mommy ko at ang tita ko who were with me. Sabi ko, I won’t do this kapag nandiyan sila para manood. Sobrang awkward naman kasi, so pinaalis nga sila ni DIrek.”

How is it working with Rob Guinto as her toughest competitor?

“Naku, sobrang taray ko kay Rob dito kasi nga threatened ako sa kanya. So after the take, I say sorry for being so mean to her.

"Pero, off cam, tawa lang kami ng tawa ni Rob. Nagkasama na kami before in one movie but hindi kami naging magkaeksena.

"Unlike here na kami ang magkasama most of the time. We really got along fine.”

“Showroom” will have advanced screening on Vivamax Plus starting November 7 and will begin streaming on Vivamax starting November 11.
