CARMINA VILLAROEL'S 'ABOT KAMAY NA PANGARAP' WITH RICHARD YAP & DOMINIC OCHOA REPLACES HER HUSBAND'S 'APOY SA LANGIT'

CARMINA VILLAROEL stars in a new soap, “Abot Kamay na Pangarap”, that starts airing this Monday, replacing her husband Zoren Legaspi’s hit show, “Apoy sa Langit”, on GMA Afternoon Prime, right after “Eat Bulaga”.

She figures in a love triangle in the story with two leading men, Richard Yap and Dominic Ochoa who are both from ABS-CBN.

“I’ve worked with both of them before so we all know each other,” she says.

“Pareho silang magaang katrabaho and very professional kaya maayos kami lagi sa set.

"Pero hindi naman hardsell na love triangle itong ‘Abot Kamay na Pangarap’ kasi it focuses more on the love story between a mother na no read, no write and her daughter who is a genius naman at batambatang naging doctor.

"Ako yung mother and my daughter is played by Jillian Ward.”

Viewers say they already cried just watching the trailer where Richard is shown deserting Carmina when she becomes pregnant with their child and Carmina later on being maltreated, along with her daughter, by her stepmother played by Dexter Doria.

“Actually, for an afternoon drama, hindi ito maingay,” adds Carmina.

“Mas restrained siya but the scenes are very touching, specially the scenes between me and Jillian. Very relatable ang story kaya viewers find it touching.”

“Nakakaiyak talaga ang kuwento ng teleseryeng ito,” confirms Richard Yap.

“Maaantig talaga ang puso ng mga manonood. It’s more of a family oriented show. Ako mismo, I’m so touched when I was watching our scenes in the show.”

For Dominic Ochoa, this is some sort of a comeback to GMA.

“In 1996, I appeared in TGIS then napalipat ako sa kabila. At ngayon, muling nagbukas ang pintuan para sa akin dito and I’m happy about it.

"Very thankful ako na yung offer nila, it came sa tamang panahon kasi katatapos ko lang ng isang show sa kabila. So nagpaalam naman ako sa kanila nang maayos and they approved it.

"It’s not a difficult decision to make dahil marami na akong nakatrabaho sa team ng GMA and yun namang mga first time ko lang naka-work, it was easy to bond and relate with them, from the productionstaff to the stars.

"I felt very warm welcome and I’m really excited to work with new people, so na-relax ako agad.”

Dominic plays Carmina’s boss who falls in love with her. But he already has a girlfriend, played by Sophie Albert, who then confronts Carmina about it.

In turn, Richard Yap marries Pinky Amador who becomes very hostile to Carmina when she learns that Jillian’s dad is Richard.

“Maraming twists ang story that will surely make it interesting for viewers,” adds Carmina. “But through it all, ang nangingibabaw rito is that very inspirational ang message nito about following your dream.

"Kasi ang dream talaga rito ni Jillian is to be a doctor and I help push her to be able to achieve her dreams despite the many obstacles thrown her way.”
