IS AJ RAVAL pregnant?
The answer is yes.
But it’s only in her new movie, “Sitio Diablo”, where her character, Aina, is impregnated by her leading man, Kiko Estrada.
“‘Sitio Diablo’ is a hard action movie at nagpapasalamat po ako sa Viva na binigyan ako ng ganitong project dahil noon ko pa pinapangarap na makagawa ng action movie,” she says.
“Ako mismo ang gumawa ng action scenes ko at fight routines dito. Hindi po ako nagpa-double kasi I really want to prove na kaya kong mag-action.”
It seems what she wants to prove is that the rumor that she’s pregnant is simply not true, for she cannot do the fight stunts she did in the movie herself if she were really infanticipating.
“No, hindi ko naman po ginawa ito para lang sa mga naninira sa akin. Nagsisimula pa lang ako sa showbiz, yun na talaga ang dream ko at ngayon, heto, natupad na ang pangarap ko.”
Director Roman Perez Jr. says AJ really studied how to do action for her role.
“She really prepared for this project. Nag-aral siya ng stunts, barilan, bakbakan at ng knife fighting.
"Ang galing na niyang humawak ng balisong. Nakaka-proud siya kasi ang daming stunts, may scenes na ang dami niyang mga kalaban, pero lahat, kinaya niya.”
What’s the most challenging scene for AJ?
“Actually, hindi po yung action scenes kundi yung love scene namin ni Kiko Estrada. First time ko siyang nakatrabaho at first time din siyang nakipag-love scene, so hindi pa siya sanay.
"Inabot sa point na napaso ako ng sigarilyo. Nasaktan din at nagkaroon ng mga pasa sa katawan. But it’s worth it kasi maganda naman lumabas sa screen ang eksena.”
The movie was shot on location in actual slum areas at the Smokey Mountain and the Baseco Compound in Tondo.
“Ang hirap po sa crowd control kasi ang daming taong nanonood sa shooting,” says AJ.
“Siguro, mga dalawanlibong tao ang nagmiron sa amin," adds Direk Roman. "May mga batang nakahubo’t hubad, mga basurero, iba-ibang klaseng tao. Lahat sila, sabik makita si AJ.”
“Sitio DIablo” is a Vivamax Original Movie about gang wars, inspired by Peque Gallaga’s “Gangland”.
AJ as Aina grew up in a family of gang leaders and is no stranger to dealing with drugs, robbery, illegal firearms, and even murder.
She is deeply influenced by her late father and her imprisoned brother, Tonix (Benz Sangalang), who were the leaders of the notorious gang known as Los Hijos Diablos.
After Tonix is jailed, Los Hijos Diablos loses its members, paving the way for other gangs to flourish, like the Illustrado, led by Bullet (Kiko Estrada).
Aina falls for him and together, they become the king and queen of Sitio Diablo.
But their reign soon faces trouble when Tonix is freed from jail and wants to reclaim his throne as Sitio Diablo’s most notorious gang leader.
This will lead to a gang war that is to be the most brutal and bloodiest battle in Sitio Diablo.
The movie also stars talented hiphop artists like Pio Balbuena, Cean Jr., Ace Raval, Just Hush and Because.
"Sitio Diablo" premieres exclusively on Vivamax this August 26, 2022.
