ADRIANNA SO REPRISES HER LOVABLE BABAENG BAKLA CHARACTER, PEARL, FROM 'GAMEBOYS', IN AN UNUSUAL LOVE TRIANGLE COMEDY, 'PATHIRSTY'

ADRIANNA SO gained many fans for her role as Pearl, the bubbly babaeng bakla and very supportive best friend of Kokoy de Santos and Elijah Canlas in the hit web series “Gameboys”.

She later on had her own GL (Girls Love) series, “Pearl Next Door”.

Now, she gets to play the most daring role in her career as the third party in a most unusual love triangle in the Vivamax rollicking sex-comedy, “PaThirsty”, a spin off from “Gameboys”.

“I once again play my role as Pearl at kasama rin dito si Kych Minamoto of ‘Game Boys’ as Achilles, my best friend,” she says.

“Both of us are broken hearted, coming from failed relationships that we’re both trying to forget. Sa kagustuhan kong matulungan si Achilles, I will act as a match maker for him at hahanapan ko siya ng bagong boyfriend.”

It turns out they get an invite from Ali (Alex Diaz), a handsome hunk whose wealthy family owns the very new Sebastian Beach Resort.

Alex invited them and their other vlogger friends, so they can help him promote his resort in their sites. The other vloggers are Chad Kinis as Bunny, Kate Alejandrino as Faith and Bob Jbeili as Sean.

Ali had earllier come out online that he is a bisexual so Pearl schemed to match him with Achilles, who succeeds in bedding Ali then gets scared as he earlier vowed he’d only go to bed with someone when they’re officially on.

He tells Pearl that he and Ali are better off as friends. Pearl then goes to bed with Ali and this makes the movie a rather complicated love triangle.

It becomes chaotic for a while, causing a rift between Pearl and Achilles, but the experience helps them understand more the real meaning of love and friendship.

“PaThirsty” is directed by Ivan Andrew Payawal, who also made the hit “Game Boys” series and its movie version.

The LGBTQ community will be pleased as they are well represented in the movie.

Just like in “Gameboys, The Movie”, where the fly in the ointment was the conservative aunt played by Angie Castrence, here, the old tradition who offers an opposing view is Ali’s domineering dad, played by Rey Abellana, who cannot accept that both Ali and Pearl swing both ways.

Adrianna So once again delivers a hilarious and winning performance as the meddlesome but lovable Pearl, but Kych Minemotoo’s Achilles is somewhat irritating in his “urong-sulong” attitude with Ali.

The three supporting characters who play their best friends are not required to do much, except when they host the contests that will determine who should win Ali.

Sadly, these sequences of the Chinese garter and the beauty pageant elicited very few laughs.

The one who really surprised us is Alex Diaz as the hunky lead actor. This is the first time we’ve seen him in a movie.

We saw him before in some scenes in TV shows he has done like “My Fantastic Pag-ibig” and “Oh Mando”, both gay themed, and he didn’t impress us, but her redeems himself here.

We know he has outed himself as bisexual but we hope this won’t stigmatize him because he looks every inch a bonafide leading man.

In “PaThirsty”, he does exceedingly well as the object of affection of Pearl and Achilles.

He has steamy bed scenes with both of them (which is a must since this is a Vivamax release) and you can see on screen why the best friends are fighting over him.
