AJ RAVAL is still being seen in the hit Vivamax series, “Iskandalo”, but here she is now in yet another new movie, “Kaliwaan”, produced by Brillante Mendoza and directed by newbie indie filmmaker Dan Palacio.
This is her 8th film project with Vivamax. What’s her role?
“I play Monica, who works in a spa and breadwinner ng family namin,” she says.
“I will do anything to help meet the financial needs of my family. Girlfriend ako ni Vince Rillon but he sees me in bed with a rich businessman, played by Juami Gutierrez.
"He gets mad at pinukpok si Juami ng bato sa ulo, so he becomes unconscious and goes into coma. Dahil dito, maghihiganti sa kanya ang family ni Juami na puro mga Muslim.”
The remake of the iconic sex-drama, “Scorpio Nights”, was offered to her.
But she turned it down as it’s said she no longer wants to go sexy and someone is ordering her (is it her BF Aljur) not to bare on screen anymore.
The project was then given to Christine Bermas.
“Kung nagawa siguro earlier ang ‘Scorpio Nights’, magagawa ko pa rin siya. Pero balak kong mag-lie low sa trabaho kasi sa June na pasukan na uli sa school, balak ko pong mag-enroll.
"Natuwa naman ang parents ko na babalik ako sa pag-aaral. But thankful ako sa Viva for considering me sa ‘Scorpio Nights’. Kasi bago pa lang ako sa Viva, naririnig ko na yang project na yan.
"Siguro, it’s not really meant for me. Sad din akong isasakripisyo ko siya para sa muling pag-aaral ko.”
So she’d stop doing sexy films?
“Wala naman pong problema sa’kin na magpa-sexy. Dito ako nakilala so hindi ko bibitawan yan at enjoy naman akong tinatawag akong pantasya ng bayan.
"Itutuloy ko pa rin naman po ang pag-arte, pero gusto ko ring matupad yung dream ko na mag-action. Kung magpapa-sexy man po ako, gusto ko ng projects na more meaningful, yung stories na may katuturan at hindi basta paghuhubad lang.”
So in which school is she enrolling and what course will she take in college?
“Ayoko po munang i-reveal in public. I want to keep it private muna. Pero ang showbiz, hindi ko naman yan basta maiiwan. Puede pa rin akong bumalik kasi enjoy ko naman po ang pag-arte.”
But she now wants to give more importance to getting higher education.
“Yung pag-aaral kasi, lumilipas ang panahon, so sayang naman. Kaya habang bata pa ako, I will try na pagsabayin ang studies and work.
"Medyo babawas-bawasan ko lang ang workload ko. Gusto ko ring mag-work out at magpaganda ng katawan pa mas maging confident ako when I do sexy scenes.”
