PAULINE MENDOZA is very happy with the positive comments she’s getting for her performance as the lowly hotel employee, Elaine Inocencio, in GMA-7's hit primetime suspenserye, “Widow’s Web”.

“Nakakatuwa kasi most viewers like my portrayal of the character I play,” she says.

“As Elaine, ako lang yung mahirap sa apat na babaeng bida sa story, sina Carmina Villaroel, Vaness del Moral and Ashley Ortega. Sila, mga susyal, ako yung poor.

"I think nakaka-relate ang viewers sa akin kasi napagbintangan pang killer yung boyfriend ko, si Edgar Allan Guzman as Frank, who will eventually be my husband.”

She became Edgar Allan’s primary defender.

“I know he is innocent so I took it on my own to investigate about the crime ng pagpatay kay Ryan Eigenmann na brother ni Ate Carmina in the story.

"Marami akong matutuklasang lihim ng ibang characters in the process at malalagay rin sa panganib ang buhay ko sa pagnanais kong malaman ang katotohanan tungkol sa naganap na krimen.”

The latest developments in the show have become more intriguing so it’s no wonder viewers are hooked.

Ashley as Jackie starts to suspect Carmina as Barbara when she saw Carmina’s missing shoe, which is connected in the crime scene, hidden inside the drawer of the dead Ryan.

Carmina, in turn, tries her best to be nice to Ashley to win her confidence.

Ashley then talks to Pauline as Elaine to hire her as her new secretary, which Pauline welcomes so she can spy on the Sagrados and obtain more information that might get to incriminate them in the crime.

But she got worried when she learned that everyone in the Sagrado house believes that it is Edgar Allan who killed Ryan as Xander.

Soon, it’s time for Carmina and Ashley to contest the will and testament left by Ryan.

“Talagang kapanapanabik ang bawat episode gabi-gabi kaya huwag na huwag kayong bibitaw sa panonood para wala kayong anumang ma-miss sa takbo ng kuwento,” says Pauline.

“I’m really happy to be a part of this very successful teleserye on primetime.”

Pauline started in showbiz in 2015 when she was only 16 years old, doing supporting roles in soaps like “Little Nanay” and “That’s My Amboy”.

She was given a good break in “Kambal Karibal” in 2017 and a lead role in the afternoon soap, “Babawiin Ko ang Lahat” last year.

What’s her biggest takeaway in her stay as a Kapuso?

“Ang tumatak talaga sa akin is the need for humility,” she says.

“It doesn’t matter kung gaano katagal ka na showbiz at gaano kalayo na ang narating mo, it always pays na maging mapagkumbababa ka to the people you work with.

"Be nice, be kind, lalo na sa mga mas senior sa iyo, co-actors mo man o director o staff and crew. Just be humble at huwag na huwag lalaki ang ulo.

"Up to now, I feel na baguhan pa rin ako so I have to stay always humble. And I just keep striving, learning more about my craft, ready to face all kinds of hard work.”
