OGIE ALCASID JUBILANT TO PERFORM LIVE AGAIN IN THE USA IN HIS 'OA SA LOVE IN THE USA' CONCERT TOUR IN THE WEST COAST

OGIE ALCASID is happy to do a concert tour, “OA sa Love in the USA”, in the West Coast after two years of the pandemic. He will be performing with the currently hot love team of Paulo Avelino and Janine Gutierrez as his special guests.

They’ll first perform at Alex Theatre in Glendale, California on March 26, then at the Sycuan Casino Resort in San Diego, California on April 2, and at the Morongo Casino Resort and Spa in Cabazon, California on April 3.

They are leaving the country on March 24, which happens to be their 35th birthday of their amiable manager, Leo Dominguez, who will be travelling with them.

“We’re all excited that after two years of being cooped up at home, heto I will be performing live to our friends in America,” says Ogie.

“Kinakabahan ako, the anticipation is grabe, samut saring emotions ang napi-feel ko, but I feel blessed that God gave us this opportunity to perform again to a live audience after such a long time.”

They’ll all have solo numbers, then Ogie will do duets with Janine then with Paulo, then all of them will do production numbers together. They have rest period of six days in between. What will they do?

“We’ll have time together for bonding, kaming tatlo, but I have a music video shoot with Troy Laureta, the music director of Ariana Grande as we have a collaboration kasi kinanta kasi nila yung kanta ko and we’ll release it later, so trabaho pa rin.

"But these two deserve a break after their tapings so they’ll enjoy each other’s company and also tour the US together.”

Ogie feels so blessed with  “OA sa Love in the USA”.

“This concert was first supposed to be held in 2020, pre- pandemic, then hindi natuloy due to the virus. Then we re-scheduled it and our producer said, ituloy na natin, but nagkaroon naman ng Omicron, so postponed again.

"Then nag-subside ang cases and the health protocols were relaxed, wala ng quarantine, so itinuloy na namin ngayon. Of course, we’ll still have to be careful but we’re now all vaccinated and we have to get over the paranoia about traveling.”

Ogie is really optimistic about the future.

“As of now, marami nang kumokontak for future shows. It’s a positive sign. The Regine-Sharon ‘Iconic’,  tuloy na rin this June and I have other series of shows slated for this year, like my birthday concert in August.

"We have to learn how to live with this virus, kasi nandiyan lang siya at hindi na naman aalis yan.”

Janine and Paulo are currently being linked to each other and some folks are teasing them that they might get married while in Las Vegas. What will he do then? “A, e, willing naman akong magninong sa kanila,” he laughs.

So what will they be singing in “OA sa Love in the USA”?

“Ang mga kababayan natin abroad, they always want to hear OPM songs kasi nami-miss nila ang Pilipinas. Our song are usually very sentimental kasi they will remember the times when they were still living in our country.

"Dati, when we do shows there, may cover versions of foreign songs. But now, they want 100 percent OPM, so that is what we will give them.”

Will Regine be traveling with them?

“No, she’s busy here. And when she leaves in June for the concert with Sharon, hindi rin ako kasama. I’m working everyday. Monday to Saturday, I’m in ‘Showtime’ then on Sundays, I’m in ‘ASAP’ so hiwalay muna kami.”
