KYLIE PADILLA is very fortunate that GMA-7 is supporting her comeback bid after her marriage to Aljur Abrenica failed.
It will be recalled that she was then playing Amihan in “Encantadia” when she got pregnant and had to make a hasty exit from the show as she can no longer perform the strenuous action scenes required from her character.
Now, she’s back, hopefully older and wiser at 27.
For her comeback teleserye, entitled “Bolera”, she is doing a show about billiards and she has two leading men in the story, Rayver Cruz and Jak Roberto. They are now all in lock in taping for one month.
For her role as Joni Fajardo, an expert billiard player, two real life billiard masters are coaching her on the set, Johann Chua and Geona Gregorio.
Playing billiards is a male-dominated sport and Kylie’s character will be the prodigy “bolera” (an expert with the balls), who will try her best to put the more “astig” men in their place.
The last TV series she did on GMA is “TODA One I Love” with Ruru Madrid in 2019.
But she did an online mini-series outside of GMA, “BetCin”, where she played a lesbian.
She has two sons with Aljur. The first one, Alas Joaquin, was born in August, 2017 and the younger one, Axl Romeo, was born in December, 2019.
GMA-7 is giving Kylie’s “Bolera” a great supporting cast headed by Gardo Versoza as Cobrador the top billiard champion who’d be Kylie’s biggest rival.
Also in the cast are Al Tantay, Joey Marquez, Jaclyn Jose, Klea Pineda, Dion Ignacio and Ricardo Cepeda.
Gardo is really a clear favorite of GMA Network.
After playing villain to Gabby Concepcion in “First Yaya”, he did “Agimat ng Agila” as villain to Bong Revilla, and now, he’s playing another big role in “Bolera”.
