STARSTRUCK WINNER SHAYNE SAVA ON BEING PAIRED WITH ABDUL RAHMAN & THE CHALLENGE OF BEING CAST IN A BIG SHOW LIKE 'LEGAL WIVES'

SHAYNE SAVA is the female winner in Starstruck 7 but it took sometime before she was given a good project.

Now, she’s happy to be cast as Jamilla, the daughter of Alice Dixson and Alfred Vargas in GMA-7’s new drama “Legal Wives”. But she’s not paired with the male Starstruck winner, Kim de Leon.

Instead, she gets a new ka-love team, Abdul Rahman, who’s one of the finalists in the artista search.

After we saw them together in the show’s trailer and at its presscon, we can say that they have very good chemistry and GMA should take good care of them as they now have a new cute teenage love team young viewers will surely idolize.

They will bring in the young viewers to watch "Legal Wives".

They both have great screen presence and they really look good together.

“Abdul and I feel so blessed and we’re honored to be part of a show as big as ‘Legal Wives’,” says Shayne.

“Ang laki nito in terms of production, casting, budget. Nanindig ang balahibo ko when I watched the trailer.

"What a grand way to jump start our budding love team. When I was first informed na part ako nito, I got excited, but also nervous, since I’d be working with veteran stars, but they all turned out to be nice and supportive, lalo na si Ms. Cherie Gil na isa sa judges namin noon sa Starstruck.

"She plays my grandmother here and she’s so helpful to us ni Abdul, treating us like her own kids.”

How did she feel when she’s told she’d be paired with Abdul?

“When they first informed na si Abdul ang makakapareha ko rito, naisip ko agad na bagay sa kanya kasi Muslim siya in real life. Okay naman sa’kin, kasi I trust the judgment ng GMA management.

"Friend ko naman si Abdul and we got along fine during Starstruck. Nagkasundo kami sa ugali at sa kuwentuhan during breaks.”

Since she’s a Christian like Andrea Torres in the show, what if she’d really fall for Abdul and, being a Muslim, he’d also have other wives?

“Kung magkakaroon ako ng Muslim na husband, siguro mas magiging open akong intindihin ang ganung sitwasyon kasi allowed yun sa culture nila. At sinabi naman sa amin na their men are obliged to treat all their wives equally.”
