KEN CHAN & RITA DANIELA SO HAPPY & THANKFUL FOR THE WARM VIEWER RECEPTION TO THEIR NEW SHOW, 'ANG DALAWANG IKAW'

KEN CHAN and Rita Daniela can now heave a sigh of relief. The feedback on their new series, “Ang Dalawang Ikaw”, is very positive and it is also rating very well in its 2:30 PM slot after “Eat Bulaga”.

“We’re nervous noong una, kasi we just came from a romcom, ‘One of the Baes’,” says Ken. “Now, we’re doing a serious drama about a husband and wife and mental illness.

"So sabi namin, baka manibago ang viewers. But the comments made by netizens so far are very encouraging. Gusto nila ang show at mukhang magiging as successful ito as ‘My Special Tatay’ where we were first paired.”

“These are the most mature roles we’ve played kasi nga, bilang mag-asawa, we have to show yung mga typical scenes in the life of a married,” adds Rita.

“We have to make it appear natural at hindi fake ang dating. Ang maganda sa show, it also helps viewers to understand how valid mental health issues can seriously affect a marital relationship.”

Ken has played a transgender, a special child and now, a man with multiple personalities.

“I’m thankful to GMA for giving me such challenging roles that test my mettle as an actor,” he beams.

“In ‘Dalawang Ikaw’, I play the dual roles of Nelson and Tyler, but in the same person as I’m afflicted with dissociative identity disorder. Rita plays my suffering wife, Mia, and Anna Vicente plays my other woman, Beatrice.”

Other Kapuso stars left GMA after their contracts were not renewed, but Ken just had his contract renewed last February and he continues to have regular shows like “Ang Dalawang Ikaw”, “All Out Sundays” and “The Clash”.

It’s not surprising that Ken is so blessed by the Lord because he is a very good child to his parents.

When his dad contracted cancer, he really did his best to help his father get all the needed medical treatment to heal him.

Then more recently, he made a dream of his mom come true. Long time ago, his mom jokingly told him: “Kapag sumikat ka na, buy me a red car ha.”

And he did buy his mom a brand new red car. He shared the photos with his mom and the car he bought for her in his social media accounts.

“Isa kang mabuting anak,” delighted netizens wrote to him.

They tell him they love his tandem with Rita, which is actually just an accidental pairing after their love team clicked in “My Special Tatay”.

Recently, to help promote their new show, they took a compatibility test to see if their answers about love and career would match.

Ken reveals that the first time they did a number together in the now defunct “Party Pilipinas”, he already told Rita: “Bagay tayo, a. Puede tayong maging love team.”

And now he says: “O ayan, nagdilang anghel ako. Nagkatotoo nga.”

Their fans were kilig to the bones when Rita was punished for failing to answer a question about Ken.

She was ordered to kiss her favorite part of Ken’s face or body and she chose to kiss his eyes.

“Maganda kasi ang mga mata niya,” she reasons out. “Super expressive kaya nagagamit niya in conveying emotions effectively sa dramatic scenes.”
