KIM MOLINA admits in the zoom presscon of her new movie, “Ang Babaeng Walang Pakiramdam”, that she got jealous when her boyfriend Jerald Napoles had steamy love scenes with Sunshine Guimary in “Kaka”.
“Yes, may selos,” she says. “Sinagot ko na yan ng buo sa Kim-Je youtube vlog namin so sana panoorin nyo. Hindi naman ako babaeng walang pakiramdam sa totoong buhay, so yes, may na-feel akong selos.
"I was very honest, wala akong nai-filter. I’m human, so I felt certain emotions. When I did ‘Momol Nights’, naisip ko rin yan when I did love scenes with Kit Thompson. I did it, so alam ko gagawin din ni Jerald ang ganyang scene eventually.
"E, yung sa kanila lock in yung taping, so iniisip ko kung anong gagawin niya. So pinagkatiwalaan ko na lang si Je.”
Now, she is paired with Jerald in “Babaeng Walang Pakiramdam” and she is reunited with Darryl Yap, who also directed her in “Jowable”, a sleeper hit. Her name in the movie is Anastacia Quingquing and playing her proved to be very difficult as she is afflicted with a rare condition which involves congenital insensitivity to pain. In other words, she doesn’t feel anything at all.
“Kasi nga, wala siyang pakiramdam, ang kailangang ipakita ko is expressionless acting, walang reaction. But in one scene i had to do a stunt, yung Danao plunge shot in Bohol.
"Bungee jumping yun. 200 meters down. Nung gagawin ko na, dapat wala akong pakiramdam, pero takot na takot ako, sigaw ako ng sigaw. Direk, hindi ko kaya! Nawala ako sa character.
"Di ko ine-expect na ganun ang takot na mararamdaman ko, e dapat wala nga akong pakiramdam, so nagdasal ako kasi hindi pwedeng dayain. Kailangang ako mismo talaga ang gumawa. Pero nagawa ko rin naman, salamat sa Diyos.”
Kim feels very lucky and thankful to Viva to get lead movie roles since when she came to Manila, after being raised in Saudi, her dream is to be a singer.
“Yes, I’m more of a singer. Ang idols ko were Sarah Geronimo and Mariah Carey. I never expected magiging theatre actress ako, then I’m now doing movies and TV shows.
"So thanks to Viva for giving me a chance that what I learned from theatre, I can share now on screen. Dito sa ‘Babaeng Walang Pakiramdam’, I play a superhero role.”
How does she feel about it? “Nakakatuwa kasi I played Darna na on stage in ‘Hindi Ako si Darna’.
"Si Miss Tetchie Agbayani played the old Darna and naghahanap siya ng makakapalit niya as the new Darna na lilipatan niya nung bato at ako ang napili niya. Now, dito sa ‘Babaeng Walang Pakiramdam’, reunited kami kasi she plays my mother here at nag-costume din ako rito na superhero.”
