GLAIZA DE CASTRO HAS A NEW AFTERNOON SOAP, "NAGBABAGANG LUHA", OPPOSITE RAYVER CRUZ AND MIKE TAN, HELMED BY RICKY DAVAO

GLAIZA DE CASTRO’s new drama series was supposed to have started last week, but because of the new lockdown, GMA-7 decided to postpone it for a later date.

This is “Nagbabagang Luha”, an adaptation of an old Lorna Tolentino movie where Glaiza is paired with Rayver Cruz, directed by Ricky Davao.

Rayver takes over from the role originally played by Gabby Concepcion. Introduced in that movie in 1988 was Alice Dixson.

Now being introduced in the Alice role is Claire Castro, daughter of Diego Castro who was recruited from a series of auditions.

Also in the cast are Mike Tan and “Prima Donnas” Director Gina Alajar who will now act this time.

While she’s not taping for the show, Glaiza is busy with the construction of a cafe in Baler, Quezon, where she has a vacation house.

Her fiance, the Irish businessman David Rainey, enjoyed it so much when he stayed there and they are now putting up their own coffee business to cater to tourists who frequent that beach town.

Glaiza says David himself will manage their cafe when he settles in the Philippines after their wedding.

Looks like they are really preparing well for their future. The coffee shop will be named Cafe Galura, which is Glaiza’s real family name.

David is also in the cafe business in his native Ireland and his specialty is artisan coffee and homemade bake trays.

He himself shared photos of their cafe in Baler now being constructed in his own social media account.

It’s designed by Jovanne Faraon, an architect and surfer based in Baler. They figure it will later become a favorite hangout place of tourists vacationing in Baler for its fabulous beaches and surf.

Glaiza confesses that she has a covid scare recently when her swab test came out positive, even if she didn’t feel any symptoms at all.

“Wala talaga akong nararamdaman, but I quickly isolated myself,” she says.

“I had self-quarantine for several days tapos nagpa-test uli and it came out negative na. So we really should all be very careful.”
