RHIAN RAMOS RENEWS EXCLUSIVE CONTRACT AS A KAPUSO, GETS RAVE FEEDBACK AS KELLY IN 'LOVE OF MY LIFE'

RHIAN RAMOS joined showbiz in 2006 as the leading lady of Richard Gutierrez in “Captain Barbell”. Then she was paired with Dingdong Dantes in “Stairway to Heaven”. She was only 15 years old then and showed so much promise.

Everyone was predicting she’d be a big star as she has so much star quality, can sing, and can also act well.

Now, 15 years later, although she’s still very much around, something must have gone wrong somewhere as the predicted superstardom didn’t come after she got involved in some unsavory stories about her lovelife.

But it’s good that GMA has not given up on her as she just renewed her exclusive contract with them last Friday.

“I feel so grateful and blessed that I get to live my dream and continue to live it with the station that supports me,” she says. “It just feels so right because GMA is my home, they’re my family. I feel comfortable here.

"I feel well-guided and taken care of. I’ve been here for 15 years already and loyalty is a value that I really appreciate in others, so I try to emulate it myself.

"I feel that GMA has also been so supportive of me through the years with all the opportunities and guidance they’ve given me.”

As an actress, Rhian continues to make waves in her role as Kelly in the hit GMA Telebabad series, “Love of My Life”, where she gets to pit acting talents agains Coney Reyes and Carla Abellana. She’s desperately in love with Mikael Daez as Nikolai but he spurns her in favor or Carla as Adelle.

“We want to thank the viewers for faithfully following our show,” she says. “Even after mawala kami for a while because of the lockdown, they joined us again when we returned on air with fresh new episodes.

"I really enjoy being part of ‘Love of My Life’ as I’m having a grand time working with tried and tested thespians like Tita Coney, Carla and Mikael. It’s really a joy working with them as I also learn so much from the experience.”

The multitalented Kapuso actress shared that she is likewise excited to do more hosting projects in the future.

“I am really looking forward to doing more hosting. I’ve done many hosting jobs in GMA before, but as I’m getting older, I also feel that I’ve grown a lot and can be a better host now.

"For one thing, I now truly feel much more comfortable and confident with myself . I think it’s really fun to just experience interacting directly with the audience kasi that’s what hosts are supposed to do.”

She was loveless last Valentine’s Day since she just broke up with her Israeli boyfriend, but she says she didn’t feel sad or lonely.

“I’m at this point in my life where I feel so independent and I don’t think any woman should feel lacking anything in her life just because she has no love life.

"We can be happy and feel whole even when we’re unattached as long as we have a fulfilling career and caring friends around us.”

What can she say about the body shamers who bash her on the net for being so thin, calling her anorexic?

“I just take it with a grain of salt, so it doesn’t really hurt my feelings. I have many mirrors at home and part of my job is to know what I look like.

"It’s good that I know myself better and I know that I’m just healthy and fit. Those who don’t like my body, fine. Basta I will follow my own health goals.”
