GLENDA GARCIA just returned from the lock in taping of GMA-7’s “FIrst Yaya” in a classy resort hotel in La Union.

She says she had so much fun with the whole cast and they got to frolic on the beach during shooting breaks as the resort is located right along the seaside. So what’s her role in the teleserye?

“I play Marni Tupaz, isang reporter,” she says. “Girlfriend ako ni Gardo Versoza, who plays Luis Prado, the Speaker of the house. Gabby Concepcion plays Glenn Acosta, the vice president.

"When the current president dies, Gabby becomes the president at magiging kalaban niya si Gardo who’s with the opposition. Kontrabida kami rito ni Gardo and we will scheme and do everything para maalis si Gabby sa puwesto.”

Gabby is a widower and Sanya Lopez plays Melody, the yaya of his two kids with whom he will later be linked romantically.

Also in the cast are Pila Pilapil, Pancho Magno, beauty queens Maxine Medina and Thia Tomalia, Sandy Andolong, Boboy Garovillo, Cai Cortez, Kakai Bautista, Jon Lucas, Thou Reyes, Princess Aguilar, Clarence Delgado and the new teen love team of Cassy Legaspi (daughter of Carmina and Zoren) and Joaquin Domagoso (son of Mayor Isko Moreno.)

"First Yaya" is directed by hitmaker L.A. Madridejos. It will starts its telecast on GMA Telebabad this coming March.

So how is it working with Gabby?

“Masayang katrabaho si Gabby,” says Glenda. “I’ve worked with him in some drama anthologies before, but this is the first time na magkasama kami sa isang teleserye.

"Magaan siyang katrabaho, pati lahat ng co-stars namin. We shot the show in La Union at para na rin kaming nagbabakasyon kaya ang saya ng buong cast. Maganda ang samahan ng lahat kaya we’re like a whole family on the set. Nagkasundo kaming lahat.”

While she’s away on lock in taping, her business as a chef making the best salads and her own brand of peanut butter had to stop operating temporarily so her regular customers were all looking for her.

“Ang dami pa ring nago-order, lalo na ng best sellers kong shrimp salad and chicken macaroni salad. So pag-uwi ko, balik na ako sa paggawa ng salad for the back orders.”

When Glenda got into the food business during the lockdown, she never expected it would be that successful. It boomed as people are afraid to go out and they just order food online.

Glenda puts her personal best in her dishes and that’s what makes her salads so yummy and so special. You can order them directly from her through her Facebook and Instagram accounts.
