MIKAEL DAEZ & MEGAN YOUNG reveal that January is a very significant month for them.
They first became officially on January 6, 2011 after meeting each other in a fashion show. January 6 is also Mikael’s birthday and he turned 33 years old this new year.
Then they had two weddings, both in January last year. On January 10, 2020, they had a small intimate wedding at Caleruega in Tagaytay with only close family members attending.
Then they had another much bigger wedding with a reception where they invited about a hundred people in Subic on January 25, 2020.
As they celebrate their first anniversary, Megan wrote to Mikael: “One year married to my Fofo and officially 10 years together. Sabi ko kay Fofo, it’s crazy how we’re growing old together.
"We sat in silence for just a bit, thinking about the days and years ahead. I then looked at him and we were both teary eyed. Cheers to more years together!”
And now, this Monday, January 18, Mikael’s drama series is returning on GMA Telebabad at 8:50 PM, “Love of My Life”. The show’s airing was stopped by the pandemic and when they resumed it on lock in taping at Tagaytay, Megan joined Mikael there and it was like they’re having a second honeymoon.
The series will start with a recap of what happened before the lockdown suspended the show. It will be recalled that Carla Abellana as Adele just married Tom Rodriguez as Stefano when it was discovered that he had a terminal disease.
His first girlfriend, Rhian Ramos as Kelly, came into the picture and it became a love triangle.
Carla doesn’t get along well with her mother in law, Coney Reyes as Isabella, who is also cold to her second son, Mikael as Nikolai, since Tom is her favorite son.
So did Mikael have a hard time going back into her character as Nikolai?
“Not really,” he says. “From the start, I got to know Nikolai very well, the black sheep in their family, and I know kung saan ang pinanggagalingan ng character niya.
"I enjoyed portraying that character and I’m just happy to continue playing him now on screen.”
He’s also too happy to work again with all his co-stars in the show.
“I really enjoyed working with the whole cast: Carla, Rhian, Tita Coney and our director, Don Michael Perez. I assure everyone na masisiyahan sila with new episodes we have taped as we resume the show’s telecast.
"Mas maraming dramatic scenes na naging challenge for all of us, acting-wise. So don’t miss the return of ‘Love of My Life’ this Monday night.”
