RITA DANIELA & KEN CHAN HAPPY TO BE BACK AS JOURNEY HOSTS OF THE CONTESTANTS IN 'THE CLASH SEASON 3'

RITA DANIELA  and Ken Chan are back performing live in the weekend noontime show, “All Out Sundays”.

Now, they’re also back on primetime on Saturday and Sunday night in “The Clash Season 3” where they will be the Journey Hosts of the contestants.

“Nakakatuwa dahil tuloy-tuloy na ang trabaho namin,” says Rita. “Talagang I’m so happy to be back with the people that I love.”

Does that mean Ken?

“Siempre, kasama na siya roon, but kasama rin ang co-hosts naming sina Julie Anne San Jose and Rayver Cruz, at ang judges na sina Ai Ai de las Alas, Lani Misalucha and Christian Bautista, and our director Louie Ignacio. Bale third season na naming magkakasamang lahat dito sa ‘The Clash’ and I did miss them kasi I really enjoy working with all of them.”

How about Ken? Did he miss Rita?

“Of course, pero lagi naman kaming nagkikita. We did a movie together sa Pagsanjan, Laguna, lock in for more than one week, with Direk Louie Ignacio rin as our director. Tapos, magkasama rin kami sa ‘All Out Sundays’.

"Pero sa ‘The Clash’, na-miss ko yung pakikisalamuha namin with the Clashers and their respective families, which is part ng work namin as Journey Hosts. Sa Season 3, I’m now excited to know the story of all the clashers.”

There have been changes in the show. Instead of the usual initial finalists of 60 clashers, they’re now getting only 30 finalists to simplify the safety measures dictated by the corona pandemic. Minors are no longer allowed, unlike in Season 1 when winner Golden Canedo was just a minor when she joined the contest.

“It's only to be expected that we really have to be careful,” says Rita. “Na-feel ko ito when we shot the movie nang lock in ang cast and crew. I realized na ito na yung new normal.

"Talagang GMA management has to be strict with the health protocols to insure everyone’s safety. Kaya rito sa ‘The Clash’ na maraming taong involved with 30 Clashers, plus host, judges, musicians and crew pa, mas ibayo ang ginagawang pag-iingat laban sa virus.”

We heard that Ken was offered a Boys Love or BL project so common these days. Did he accept it?

“May nag-inquire nga po, but I felt that been, there done that na ako dyan in 'Destiny Rose'. Si Jeric Gonzales ang kapareha ko roon kaya masasabi kong nauna na kami dyan sa BL na yan. E, nakakawala na ako sa ganyang character after mag-click ang tambalan namin ni Rita sa RitKen love team, so hindi ko na po babalikan pa yan.”
