WINWYN MARQUEZ HAPPY TO BE BACK IN ACTING IN GMA-7'S NEW DRAMA SHOW, 'I CAN SEE YOU'

WINWYN MARQUEZ got positive feedback for her portrayal of a beauty pageant title holder who defied her mom, Gloria Diaz, and became a radical activist who took to the mountains in Joel Lamangan’s mini series, “Beauty Queen”.

It was shot last year before the corona pandemic came, so she’s happy to now get a new acting assignment in GMA-7’s new drama anthology, “I Can See You”.

“It’s really nice to act before the cameras again,” she says. “Na-miss ko, e. I'm in the episode, ‘High Rise Lovers’, with Lovi Poe and Tom Rodriguez. We shot on a lock in taping at Clark in Pampanga for four straight days.

"Walang uwian. At first, medyo takot because of the virus. But the production staff is very careful with all their safety protocols to make sure no one gets infected while were taping the show.”

The Reina HispanoAmerica winner in 2017 also just finished taking the Basic Citizen’s Military Training and she found it very helpful in instituting discipline in one’s mind and body.

“We all need good discipline kasi kung alam mo sa sarili na disiplinado ko, you can easily achieve your goals,” she says. “If you have the right motivation to be an achiever, it will surely push you and give you strength.

"If you don’t have the right discipline, walang right direction ang moves mo and it will take time before you can reach your objectives.”

She herself already demonstrated this when she joined the Reina HispanoAmericana and really trained hard and did everything for her to bag the title, including learning how to speak Spanish fluently.

“But the military training is even tougher,” she adds. “Nung sumali ako sa training and I spoke to a lot of officers, I realized na discipline is really, really important para nasa isang straight line ka lang at hindi ka talaga ma-distract sa pupuntahan mo.”

She now practices discipline even at ther own home. “Mas tumaas ‘yung knowledge ko about self discipline. I don’t know if it makes sense, pero talagang mas binibigyan ko na siya ng pansin hindi lang para sa sarili ko but also pati na sa mga tao sa bahay.

"Discipline is a big factor to success, so as much as possible, I share with them all the insights I gained from my training.”

What can she say about her ex-BF Mark Herras now about to become a father again with his partner, Nicole Donesa?

“I haven’t seen him for so long. But what can I say but I just wish them all the best. A baby is always a blessing.”
