ALDEN RICHARDS is happy that his fans who used to want him to be paired only with Maine Mendoza now seem more open-minded as they signify their approval of his being paired with Jasmine Curtis-Smith in the new GMA-7 drama anthology, “I Can See You”, to be shown right after “Encantadia”.
Many of them said they are eagerly awaiting “Love at the Balcony”, the initial episode with Alden and Jasmine as unlikely lovers who meet and fall in love during the lockdown.
This show will feature four different stories each week. Their inaugural presentation this Monday, September 28, is “Love at the Balcony” with Alden and Jasmine and it will run from Monday to Friday night.
It’s an endearing love drama that will surely win your hearts and make you fall in love not only with the story and the characters but with love itself and all its beautiful promises.
Alden plays Gio, a world weary wedding videographer who feels creatively drained.
His friend and business partner, Val (Pancho Magno) encourages him to find someone who will give him inspiration. Then the corona lockdown happens and Gio is forced to stay in his condo unit and not go out.
While sauntering in their condo’s common balcony, he meets by chance the lovely Lea (Jasmine), a frontliner who works as a nurse.
Their first meeting doesn’t begin well with an unfortunate encounter, but as things go on for both of them, romance blooms between Gio and Lea amidst the pandemic.
But this is not just the usual love story where everything is smooth sailing, as destiny has other designs for them, putting their lives together to be tested for a more noble purpose. Aside from Pancho, also supporting them are Denis Barbacena and Shyr Valdez, directed by L.A. Madridejos.
“Jasmine and I have worked together before in the movie ‘Imagine You & Me’, but we got to get to know each other better now dahil lock in ang taping namin dito sa ‘Love at the Balcony’, walang uwian,” says Alden.
“We practice all the safety protocols on the set to make sure no one gets the virus, pero may time pa ring magkuwentuhan. Jasmine is such a good conversationalist and I really enjoyed working with her dahil napakagaling din niyang aktres.

After them, the next show on October 5 is “High Rise Lovers” with Lovi Poe, Winwyn Marquez and Tom Rodriguez. On October 12, Andrea Torres, Yasmien Kurdi, Benjamin Alves and Paolo Contis star in “The Promise”, a romance drama with a touch of mystery directed by Zig Dulay. And on October 19, don’t miss “Truly Madly Deadly” starring Dennis Trillo, Jennylyn Mercado and Rhian Ramos, directed by Jorron Lee Monroy.
