Their film, “On Vodka, Beers and Regrets”, was shown for one month in several theaters, making it the first bonafide hit among local movies released so far this year.

The touching film starring Bela Padilla and JC Santos about love and alcohol addiction seems to have struck a chord with Gen Z and Millennial audiences.

In the concert scene, “Unified”, the first concert of Sarah Geronimo and Regine Velasquez filled up the Araneta Coliseum for two straight nights, making it the most successful soldout concert for 2020 to date.

In the streaming arena, “Jowable”, an unconventional comedy starring Kim Molina and directed by digital maverick Darryl Yap, remains the number one among the top 10 movies in the Philippines on Netflix since it was launched on February 14.

Viva has several other hit films on Netflix: “Just a Stranger”, “Miss Granny”, “Aurora”, “Buy Bust” and all of them are popular choices for Netflix viewers.

Meantime, the comedy “Sanggano, Sanggago, Sangguwapo” with Andrew E and Janno Gibbs is currently lording it over on iFlix. All the streaming channels like Netflix, iFlix and HOOQ carry several hit Viva flicks in their libraries.

2020 also saw the phenomenal comeback of Sarah Geronimo’s hit song “Tala”, that has gone viral with over 100 million views and even got lilsted on Billboard’s World Charts. The dance crazed it introduced also went viral and imitated by thousands of other viewers.

Viva’s PBO (Pinoy Box Office) is also the leader over cable TV ratings in both AGB Nielsen and Kantar surveys. Other Viva cable channels are also within the top ten hit lists of the surveys.

Viva has also announced in a grand launch called Viva Vision 2020 that they are producing 34 films for this year, led by Dingdong Dantes’ “Hard Day”, the remake of a Korean action-drama that is an entry in the summer Metro filmfest. After this, Dong will do “Joaquin Bordado”, another remake.

Meantime, Sharon Cuneta and Regine Velasquez will be together for the first time in “Sunny”, a Korean adaptation about a dying woman whose last wish is to be reunited with her high school BFF.
