THIS BAND OF 'KAHIT AYAW MO NA' COMES UP WITH A NEW HUGOT SONG LOVELORNS CAN RELATE WITH, 'NANG-IWAN'

the members of THIS BAND

THIS BAND is the name of the new band that produced last year the hit single from Viva Records, “Kahit Ayaw Mo Na”, which became a constant favorite in radio stations nationwide and was a certified chart topper on all platforms. On Spotify alone, it had 61 million streams. It even became the title of a Viva movie.

The song brought back the romantic side of Pinoy music lovers about long and lasting love, reaching as far as the USA, Europe and the Middle East. It got several nominations at the Awit Awards, including best song and best new group. The band itself was named best digital artist in the MOR 101.9 Awards.

Now, they have a new song which has all the makings of another hit, “Nang-iwan”. It was released just two weeks ago and immediately got an amazing 1.1 million streams on youtube and 272,000 on Spotify!

Euwie Loria, founder of This Band and also its rhythm guitarist, wrote both “Kahit Ayaw Mo Na” and “Nang-iiwan”. He has a gift for writing catchy lyrics about steadfast love using everyday Pilipino hugot words that hit the right spot with local listeners, specially the lovelorn hearts here and abroad who claim they can easily relate with the message and emotions conveyed in his songs.

Consider these lines: “Hindi na dapat pang inalay sa’yo ang puso ko/ Ngayon ako’y nahihirapan/ Akala ko’y wala nang hangganan/ Ang sakit-sakit isipin na ako’y iyong iniwan’. It sounds like it’s a continuation of the lyrics of ‘Kahit Ayaw Mo Na’, which goes: “O bakit ba kailangan pang umalis/ Pakiusap lang na wag ka nang lumihis/ Tayo’y mag-usap, teka lang, ika’y huminto/ Wag mo kong iwan, aayusin natin ‘to”.

The same emotions have been imparted in past hugot love songs before, but they’re now given a new totally millennial flavor.

The band is based in Las Pinas and started singing only June of last year, but they’re now much sought after to do various gigs. There are six members. Aside from Euwie Loria, theh have vocalist Andrea Manzano who’s voice got a light rock vibe, guitarist Raymart Gubat, drummer John Macaranas, bassist Miccael Galvan and keyboardist Melvin Carson.

Asked why they called themselves This Band, they explained that they always hear people referring to them as This Band, so they decided to use it as their band’s name.

Their other hit songs are “Bitaw Na”, “Tampisaw”, “Hindi Na Nga” and “Di Na Babalik” which posted an amazing 16 million streams on Spotify alone. “Nang-iwan” is sure to touch the hearts of listeners who have experienced the kind of misery and heartbreak that wreak havoc on anyone who’s ever been in love.

The dusky tones of singer Andrea Manzano perfectly suit the heartfelt lyrics of Euwie Loria to make sure na tatamaan ka talaga! You can try streaming it so you can listen to it and find out for yourself how it will hit you. “Nang-Iwan” is now available on Spotify, Apple Music and other digital music stores.
