THE Asian Consulting Group recently launched the latest publication under its name, “Iwas Buwis-it: What to Do When Tax Attacks”. The launch was held at the ACG Tax Hub, 9F The Ignacia Place, Quezon City.

Inspired by the casual style of magazines, Iwas Buwis-it discusses the taxes a person is subjected to throughout their lives. The book covers a variety of common experiences such as career choices, starting a business, giving gifts, and many more. Iwas Buwis-it will also feature business tips from Potato Corner CEO Jose Magsaysay, Jr., and interviews with James Reid, Kean Cipriano and Boy Abunda.

“The goal of the book is to help people understand taxes – not the technical knowledge, just the understanding of why we’re taxed, how are we taxed, and what kind of taxes we pay,” said ACG Founding Chairman Mon Abrea, “Iwas Buwis-it won’t be about how to file this return or pay that tax. The book is about life in general – your careers, your ideals, or even your business ideas.”

Like its previous publications, Iwas Buwis-it is part of ACG’s advocacy of helping taxpayers by educating them. If taxpayers know more about taxes, then they can avoid committing unnecessary violations. To further this advocacy, the Asian Consulting Group has also led seminars and consultations throughout the country. At its main office, the company also conducts the Tax Hub Talks, which features a variety of topics.

The Philippine Tax Whiz Mon Abrea has also written other publications for the non-profit organization Center for Strategic Reforms of the Philippines, including the bestselling tax handbook, “Got A Question About Taxes? Ask The Tax Whiz!” as part of his advocacy.

“A lot of people are afraid of taxes, but whether we like it or not, we have to pay taxes,” said the ACG Founder. “If we make taxes more accessible and easier to understand, then maybe people won’t be afraid of it.”

The Asian Consulting Group (ACG) is the first social enterprise on tax advisory. Founded by the Philippine Tax Whiz Mon Abrea, ACG is driven by the goal of helping taxpayers pay the right taxes. With its vision of becoming the Philippines’ first Tax Hub for SMEs in the Asia-Pacific, ACG has invested in digital transformation to provide its expert tax solutions. The company has also opened its satellite offices in Laguna, Albay, Vigan, Bacolod, and Puerto Princesa.
