MIGUEL TANFELIX has just renewed his contract with GMA Network. “I feel very blessed na naririto pa rin ako as a Kapuso,” he says. “This is where I started as a child actor sa Starstruck Kid and I can really say dito na ako lumaki at nagkaisip. And through the years, never nila akong pinabayaan.”
He has made many memorable shows since he became a teenager, from his breakthrough performance as “Niño” in the top-rating primetime soap of the same title, where he played a boy who inspires people in spite of his mental incapacities, to his outstanding role as Diego in the hit series “Kambal, Karibal” where he won a Best Actor in a Leading Role award from the 1st Asian Academy Creative Awards. He now plays the significant role of Ahmad, the Badjaw lead actor in the epic drama “Sahaya”.
“I’m really thankful to the challenging roles that GMA gives me, but gusto ko pong mag-explore pa ng ibang roles. Puwede akong maging bida-kontrabida. I also want to rry doing action. Ngayon, naga-acting workshop po ako para ma-expand ‘yung mga kaya ko pang gawin, para mas maging versatile ako at kahit ano po ang ibigay sa aking role, magagampanan ko po nang maayos.”
Meantime, the latest plot development in “Sahaya” get even more intense. Zoren Legaspi as Harold decides to escape from his wife Anna Roces as Irene and he is now with his true love, Mylene Dizon as Manisan, and their daughter Bianca Umali as Sahaya. But Irene is desperately looking for them and plans to do something violent to them as her revenge.
She makes a false accusation that Harold stole money and land titles from her, so they are now wanted by the law. She is assisted by Snooky Serna as Salida in searching for Harold, Manisan and Sahaya. As for the evil Hubert, karma is fast catching up on him as ugly welts suddenly grew on his skin and it seems like the beginning of a deadly disease. Meanwhile, Miguel himself continues to hope that he will still eventually reunited with his true love, Bianca as Sahaya.
So what’s the real score now between him and his perennial partner, Bianca? “Well, we’re still the best of friends. Lagi ko na namang sinasabi na sa tagal ng pinagsamahan since child stars pa kami up to now, she will always have a special place in my heart.”
