BARBIE FORTEZA has joined the ranks of stars who have their own youtube channels where they post their own videos about the latest happenings in their lives and careers. Her videos have already had more than 8 million views and she now has 400,000 subscribers. Her fans support her wholeheartedly in trying to gain more followers so she can get to the 500,000 subscribers mark.
“Nakakatuwa talaga kasi ang bilis dumami ng subscribers ko,” says Barbie whose “Kara Mia” continues to get positive feedback from its loyal viewers. “Talagang sinusubaybayan nila ang postings ko kaya naman ginaganahan ako lalong mag-post ng more videos. Yung recent trip namin sa Japan (with her BF Jak Roberto and sister Sanya Lopez), andaming hits hindi lang from regular JakBie fans kundi even from other viewers na na-enjoy yung sightseeing and food tripping na ginawa namin sa Japan.”
Barbie also just celebrated her second anniversary of going steady with Jak, which Jak himself calls as their “second year of happiness”. “Yes, nakaka-two years na kami and so far, so good. Maayos ang lahat and wala kaming na-experience na malaking conflict or tampuhan. Even my parents like Jak, magkakasundo sila.”
For their anniversary, Jak took her to an upscale fine dining restaurant and Barbie later wrote that she found it too pricey. “Masyadong mahal, pero na-appreciate ko si Jak kasi he wants our anniversary celebration to be really memorable.”
The pictures of them having dinner together that she posted on her social media account elicited very positive and favorable reactions from their fans who are all hoping their relationship will last forever and eventually end up in front of the altar. Right now, Barbie is also excited because she reportedly got an offer to do a movie with internationally acclaimed filmmaker Brillante Mendoza.
This will no doubt boost her stock and be a good opportunity for her to be seen abroad. She has won a best actress award before in a film festival in Portugal for playing the role of a Badjaw maiden in “Laut”. It’s about time she gets to do another quality movie once again.
Meantime, in “Kara Mia”, Jak as Boni has discovered the truth that Barbie as Kara has a big secret: that she has two faces, her and that of her sister, Mia played by Mika de la Cruz, with whom she shares one body. Jak gets shocked with this revelation and cannot accept, leaving Barbie crying and brokenhearted as it means the end of their romantic relationship.
