WRITER-DIRECTOR JUN LANA REVEALS LINE UP OF 20 LUCKY CHOSEN APPLICANTS FOR HIS NEXT CINEPANULAT WRITING WORKSHOP STARTING MAY 4





JUN LANA is one of our most successful, more prolific writers-directors, having won so many awards both here and abroad. He also believes in giving back to the film industry that nurtured him and is now paying it forward by conducting his screenwriting workshops to aspiring writers, CinePanulat Screenwriting Lab.

Works that flourished in his past workshops that have already been filmed include Jen Chuaunsu’s “Sleepless” directed by Prime Cruz (NETPAC Best Asian Film, QCinema Festival), Ivan Payawal’s “I America” (2016 Tokyo International Film Festival), Keavy Vicente’s “Distance” directed by Perci Intalan (2018 Tokyo International Film Festival), and JC Pacala’s “Kung Paano Hinihintay Ang DapitHapon” directed by Carlo Catu (2019 Cinemalaya Best Film, Best Screenplay and NETPAC Award winner).

He is conducting another workshop this year and 748 people applied. Jun now announces announces the lucky 20 fellows for 2019 who were selected after a rigorous selection process: Gian Arre, Aminah Badawy, Cris Bringas, Chloe Cabodil, Jerom Canlas, Eluna Cepeda, Adel Clemente, Shane David, Kathleen Gonzales, Jonar Johnson, Jiggy Lim, Ryan Machado, Rhadson Mendoza, Valentino Nool Jr, Jose Maria Ramirez, Janica Regalo, John Rogers, Karlo Sevilla, Anna Francesca Talens, Sofia Urmeneta.


CinePanulat is Jun’s personal advocacy after being an accomplished screenwriter for over 2 decades.  Completely free of charge, CinePanulat is a 3-month coaching and mentoring lab aimed at helping emerging screenwriters find their voice. It also has a competition component, with prizes to be awarded to the best screenplays.

An integral part of CinePanulat are the pitching sessions to assist fellows learn how to present their films professionally. To all those who were chosen, our best wishes for a fruitful workshop.

Meantime, Jun and Perci Intalan's company, IdeaFirst, is now busy filming "The Panti Sisters" starring Paolo Ballesteros, Christian Bables and Martin del Rosario. This is an entry in the coming Pista ng Pelikulang Pilipino this coming September.
