RIA AND ARJO ATAYDE are so lucky to have a very supportive mom like Sylvia Sanchez, who even strongly defends them when they get involved in some controversial issues. Both of them got not only Sylvia’s acting genes but also her good PR. But naturally, both Ria and Arjo were quizzed about their respective love life. Ria is asked if it’s true she’s now playing beautiful music with JM de Guzman.
“No, it’s not true,” she says. “We’re good friends. We have the same barkada in showbiz, tropa lang, and we hang out every now and then, but I’m not in a hurry to be in a relationship at this point. Kasi my career is just starting so I want to focus on this muna. But I really feel said when haters bash me saying ginagamit ko lang si JM para lang ako mapag-usapan.”
As for Arjo, he now refuses to make an answer when asked about Maine Mendoza, simply because bashers are also accusing him of using Maine to gain more media mileage. Even when asked if he’d be in favor of Maine playing Darna, his reply was a curt “No comment”. “Whatever I say on any issue concerning her, lagi pa rin akong naba-bash, so no comment na lang,” he says.
So let’s not ask him about his own affairs, but about his sister Ria. Would he be in favor of JM de Guzman for Ria? “No comment na rin lang, kasi that’s my sister’s own business. But I wouldn’t mind working with JM. He’s a very good actor and I respect his talent, so it’d be nice to act with him in a TV show or in a movie.”
Arjo is now being seen on ABS-CBN in “The General’s Daughter” and in iWant TV on the action-drama, “Bagman”. His performances in both shows are getting him very good feedback. The Autism Society even praised his portrayal of Maricel Soriano’s autistic son in “General’s Daughter”. Ria, in turn, is in “Halik” as Pinky and the soap will soon have its conclusion. Both Ria and Arjo say they’re happy to have a caring and supportive mother like Sylvia and they always share her a part of their earnings for safekeeping, which they can later use as savings for their own future.
