EX BATTALION MEMBERS LAUNCHED IN 'SONS OF NANAY SABEL', ADMIT ACTING IS NOT AN EASY JOB

EX BATTALION members are so thankful to Ai Ai de las Alas as they know that they’re now being launched in a movie, produced by Viva Entertainment no less, because Ai Ai happens to be their manager.

“Tumatanaw kami ng malaking utang na loob sa kanya kasi parang nanay talaga namin siya at parang tunay na anak ang treatment niya sa amin,” they say. “Kung minsan, nauubusan siya ng pasensiya dahil nagiging pasaway kami, pero pinapatawad pa rin niya kami at hindi binibitawan.”

“Kahit pasaway sila, di makakailang talented naman talaga ang Ex Battalion,” says Ai Ai. “At dito sa movie naming ‘Sons of Nanay Sabel’ or SONS, pinatunayan din nilang magagaling silang artista. Pasalamat din sila kasi matiyaga sa kanila ang director naming si Dado Lumibao. Kahit minsan, nate-take 10 sila bago magawa nang maayos ang isang eksena, talagang hindi sila sinusukuan.”

The Ex Battalion members all say that one thing they realized is that: “Hindi pala madaling umarte. Kahit na pinag-workshop muna kami, napakahirap pa rin. Sabi nga namin, kakanta na lang kami. We’re all like brothers here at sabi namin, gagawa lang kami uli ng movie kapag kami pa rin ang magkakasama at kasama pa rin namin si Nanay Sabel na malaking tulong talaga sa amin.”

The members of the Ex Battalion and the roles they play in “Sons of Nanay Sabel” are Daryl as Bieber, Archie as Justin, King Badger as Troll Montero, James as Baby James, Mark as EZ, and Rhenn as Bhoy. In the story, they’re the children of Ai Ai as Sabel with different fathers. Ai Ai takes them to an orphanage and they were adopted by different foster parents, some of whom are rich, some are poor, some are good and caring, while some are abusive and cruel.

When Sabel eventually gets rich after she marries a prince, she then tries her best to gather back all her kids and they all live together in one home, with hilarious and riotous results. Also in the movie is beauty queen Kylie Padilla as the lone leading lady and mutual object of affection of the Ex Battalion members.

Supporting them are Jon Santos as Bona, the official Yaya of the group, and Sheree as Sister Mary, the nun who knows all the details as to who are the foster parents that adopted the kids of Nanay Sabel. The film is also a musical and features new original songs by the Ex Battalion like “Sama-Sama”, “Huwag Siya”, and “Bagong Umaga” with Ai Ai herself joining them. Its original soundtrack will soon be available. The movie will open in theaters on May 1, Labor Day, as a pre-Mother’s Day presentation.
