ARCI MUNOZ SO HILARIOUS AS AN ALIEN FROM OUTER SPACE WHO LANDS ON EARTH IN iWANT's 'JHON En MARTIAN'

ARCI MUNOZ is so busy both on the big and small screen. Her movie, “Last Fool Show”, with JM de Guzman is currently showing in theaters nationwide. And now, she’s doing another new movie with JC Santos. Tentatively titled “Open”, this is about a mature, open relationship and will require them to do sexy scenes, co-starring Vance Larena and Alexa Ilacad, under the direction of Andoy Ranay.
So is she ready to be more daring and sexy? “Okay lang, kasi maganda talaga yung material. First time ipapakita how couples in a long time relationship would react when they decide to open up their relationship. Yung dapat, walang selosan. Let’s see kung anong mangyayari.”

On TV, Arci is now taping a new teleserye for ABS-CBN, “Project Kapalaran”, where she co-stars with Sylvia Sanchez, Joey Marquez and JM de Guzman. With iWant, she plays the leading lady in a new comedy show, “Jhon and Martian”. They call this an intergalactic romcom since Arci plays an alien named 223 from the planet Mars. 223 falls down to earth and meets comedian Pepe Herrera as Jhon, a delivery boy who gets her space ship, which has been reduced to miniature size, by mistake.

“Kulang na nga ako sa tulog kaya ako nagkakasakit,” she says at the presscon of “Jhon and Martian”. “Buti’t nagagawa pa rin namang ayusin ng handler ko ang very hectic schedule ko.”

How is it working with Pepe Herrera in “Jhon en Martian”, where they even have a kissing scene? “First time naming magkasama at magaan siyang katrabaho. Yung kissing scene, required yun sa story kasi the Martians communicate directly through their lips para maipahatid ang thoughts nila sa mga tagalupa. Nag-imbento sila rito ng sariling Martian language at yun ang ginagamit ko sa umpisa, hanggang magkahalikan nga kami ni Pepe at dahil doon, nakakapag-Tagalog na ako. Wholesome po kami rito. Sa planet namin, gusto akong ipakasal sa isang taga-Pluto so I escape at napadpad nga ako sa Earth.”

Rufa Mae Quinto plays her mother as the Martian Queen. How is it working with her? “Ang siya! First time namin to work together but nagkahulihan kami agad ng loob kasi pareho kaming baliw. Tawanan kami at kuwentuhan lagi sa set. Napagkuwentuhan na namin ang buong buhay namin and I’m learning so much from her kasi natural comedienne siya.”

The show is written by Joma Labayen of “Home Sweetie Home” and directed by Victor Villanueva who is best known for his surprise indie hit, “Patay na si Hesus”. It also stars Mon Confiado as a Martian, and many other comedians like Jojo Alejar, Aiko Climaco, Jeslon Bay, TJ Valderama, Joel Saracho and many more. It has five episodes and will start streaming on iWant for free via Chromecast and Apple Airplay starting April 14, produced by Dreamscape Digital with Quantum Films.
