Star Magic Workshop Introduces Its Teachers For Summer 2019, With A New Class For Conversational Tagalog Proficiency

THE STAR MAGIC WORKSHOP is the nearest thing to a formal acting school locally offering acting, voice and dance training. It’s headed by Director Rahyan Carlos who started with GMA Artist Center and was the mentor of the first batch of Starstruck winner. He stayed with GMA for three years.

He left when Regal offered him to direct and he specialized in horror flicks like “Pamahiin” with Dennis Trillo and Marian Rivera, “Shake Rattle & Roll” and “Hide and Seek”. ABS-CBN then got him to do a horror teleserye for them, “Florinda”, starring Maricel Soriano.

“They learned I did acting workshops for GMA and they asked me to conduct it for them,” he says. “My first students were discoveries from Pinoy Big Brother and Star Circle Quest. Then I did workshops for Star Magic Batch 16 in 2008, which included Enrique Gil. That started it. I studied with Hollywood acting coach Ivanna Chubbuck and that revolutionized my teaching techniques.”
