Kris Bernal Confronts Thea Tolentino About Missing Husband, Has Tips For Starstruck Wannabees

KRIS BERNAL is one of the most successful Starstruck discoveries. She was the female winner in Starstruck Batch 4 and has since remained loyal to GMA-7. She continues to play lead roles in hit soaps like “Impostora” and “Asawa Ko, Karibal Ko”, unlike her male counterpart who left GMA but whose career is now neither here nor there. Now that there will be a new season of Starstruck, what advice can Kris give to the newcomers who will join the GMA Artista Search?

“Nakita ko nga, ang dami talagang pumipila sa auditions,” she says. “Marami talagang gustong mag-artista. Naalala ko tuloy yung time na ako ang nag-audition at yung mga pinagdaanan ko as a contestant sa Starstruck before. Ang masasabi ko lang sa mga sumasali ngayon, don’t be afraid to follow your dream. Kaya nyo yan, basta lagi nyong lalakasan ang loob nyo at huwag kayong mahihiya-hiya kapag may pinapagawa sa inyo. Dapat, matuto kayong kapalan ang mukha nyo to show your talent. Otherwise, walang mangyayari sa inyo. Basta always do your best and all your hard work will pay off. But also remember that showbiz is a lot of hard work, hindi lang ito about fame and fortune kundi marami  ka ring sacrifices na gagawin.”

Kris continues to elicit sympathy in her role as Rachel in “Asawa Ko, Karibal Ko”, which is now on its fourth month of telecast and continues to be going strong in the ratings game. She never expected that the other woman who will be rival her over the man she loves, Rayver Cruz as Gavin, is her own ex-husband who has become a transgender, Thea Tolentino as Venus.

“We’re really thankful ng lahat ng kasama ko sa show for the continued support we’re getting from our loyal viewers,” she says. “Talagang involved sila sa lahat ng mga nangyayari sa amin ni Rayver and Thea at natutuwa kaming basahin ang comments nila sa social media dahil obvious na naa-appreciate nila talaga ang show.”

Has Rayver reported back to the show’s taping after he took a short leave of absence because of the untimely demise of his mother? “We all condoled with him and we admire him kasi sa kabila ng nangyari sa family, nananatili siyang matatag. Kahit noong time na may sakit ang mother niya at problemado sila, naging very dedicated pa rin siya sa trabaho. Even the viewers, puring-puri siya sa husay ng acting na ipinapakita niya sa programa.”

Meantime, fans of the show continue to hate Thea Tolentino’s guts as Venus, who cause the death of Rayver’s mom, Alma Moreno. “Grabe na ang kasamaan niya!” says one viewer. “Dapat matuklasan na ng lahat kung sino ang tunay niyang katauhan at nang matapos na ang mga kabuhungan niya.”

Rachel has discovered that he husband Nathan is still alive and she wants to get back their child from him, but what she doesn’t know is that Nathan is really Venus after he had a sex change operation.  She confronts Thea as Venus and tries to find out as to where she can find Nathan and her daughter.
