Carmina Villaroel Replaces Regine Velasquez On Saturday Mornings Hosting 'Sarap, Di Ba?' With Her Twins, Mavy And Cassy Legaspi

CARMINA VILLAROEL is replacing Regine Velasquez, who has since jumped “ober da bakod”, as host of the lifestyle-variety show, “Sarap Diva”, which now also has a new title, “Sarap, Di Ba?” Her co-hosts will be her own twin kids with Zoren Legaspi, Mavy and Cassy, who have both officially signed up as Kapuso artists. Their show will now be not just about cooking and food but also about family relationships and activities for the whole family.

Carmina admits she has to think twice before accepting “Sarap, Di Ba?” “My main concern is I’m doing another drama series,” she says. “Kakayanin ko pa ba kung magso-soap ako and meron pa nitong other show na regular show rin? E, since pareho kong love ang acting and hosting, di tinanggap ko rin itong ‘Sarap, Di Ba?’ lalo na nga’t magkakasama pa kami rito ng kambal ko.”

Her prayer now is for the supporters of Regine’s show to continue to watch ‘Sarap, Di Ba?’ “Alam naming mahal nila ang programa because of Regine, pero sana, bigyan nila kami ng chance ng mga anak ko and we promise them na we will give them a good and entertaining show.”

What if viewers would compare her with Regine? “Naku, sana naman po, huwag. Let’s not make comparisons kasi magkaiba naman kami. To begin with, Songbird siya, e ako, frustrated singer lang po ako. Gustuhin ko mang kumanta, hindi ko kakayanin. Basta kung anuman yung saya na naibigay niya sa viewers before, we promise na tutumbasan namin ng mga anak ko.”

Since the show is about relationships, has she opened up to her kids about her former relationship with Rustom Padlla? “They know about the past, wala akong inilihim sa kanila. Kaysa marinig pa nila from other people, I want to be honest with them para may matutuhan din sila sa naging experiences ko. They’re mature enough naman to understand at alam nilang it happened a long time ago.”

Has she talked to Regine about her hosting “Sarap, Di Ba?” “Hindi nga, e. Walang chance. But I was told na when she learned na ako yung susunod sa yapak niya as host, she expressed her approval daw and she even wanted to endorse me. So salamat naman kasi she need not do that but she offered it herself, so nakakatuwa naman. Sayang nga lang at hindi na nangyari kasi nakalipat na siya. But sa Twitter niya, ni-retweet niya yung promo ng show namin so thank you very much talaga sa kanya.”

So be prepared for fun-filled Saturday mornings with the whole family as GMA brings you “Sarap, Di Ba?”, beginning today, October 20, after “Maynila”. The show aims to bridge gaps between parents and children by showing how family members can strengthen their relationship with each other. Carmina, being the Gen X mom, will keep televiewers happily entertained as she tackles relatable and more dynamic topics about family, food and fun activities for everyone. The twins, being the Gen Z teens, will join their mom in the chikahan about the latest trends in music, pop culture, fashion, and technology.

Carmina and her twins have been effective endorsers of various products for years now. The twins will definitely be a breath of fresh air to Kapuso viewers as they help their mom interact with their guests. Viewers should look forward to their adventures and misadventures in their personal vlogs or video blogs as they share what teens and children actually care about. The program will also be a platform for sharing experiences, no matter what age group you belong to.

The fun bonding would not be complete without the delicious and healthy meals you can prepare for your picky children, your hungry husband, or to simply satisfy your own cravings! Learn new recipe ideas from Carmina and the twins while they share tips on parenting with their Kapuso celebrity guests. Turn Saturday mornings into meaningful and special moments in ‘Sarap, Di Ba?’ Saturdays at 10:45AM on GMA.
