CHYNNA ORTALEZA plays Alden Richards elder sister in the action-fantasy, “Victor Magtanggol”, and she says she herself is the one who requested GMA to include her in the show. “We got to work together sa isang Lenten presentation ng ‘Eat Bulaga’ before and I like Alden kasi magaan siyang katrabaho,” she says. “So sabi ko sa GMA Artist Center, pag nagkaroon ng bagong show si Alden, gawin nyo naman akong sister niya. At heto nga, pinagbigyan nila ako. I’m so happy for Alden kasi he deserves this kind of big project. Sa kabila ng success niya, hindi siya nagbago, humble pa rin, hindi naging swell head, mabait na tao, masayang kasama sa set. I really like his work ethic kasi sobrang dedicated sa trabaho. Wala siyang cut off. Kahit abutin ng umaga sa taping, no complaints, at magre-report pa siya diretso sa ‘Eat Bulaga’.”
Playing their dad in “Victor Magtanggol” is Al Tantay. “Ang mother namin is Coney Reyes, but she left us to work abroad kaya ako ang tumayong mother kay Alden at sa sister naming si Lindsay de Vera. May asawa ako rito, si Dion Ignacio, at anak namin si Yuan Francisco. Very supportive ang buong family namin kay Alden, but we didn’t know na magkakaroon pala siya ng super powers nang mapunta sa kanya yung mahiwagang martilyo, ang mjolnir (pronounced myolnir), na pag-aari ng God of Thunder na si Thor, played by Conan Stevens.”
Her daughter, Stellar, is now two years old. “Definitely, dahil sa kanya, nabago ang mundo namin ng husband ko (singer-actor Kean Cipriano). Our priorities have shifted as she motivates us to work harder. We have put up our own music label, O/C Records, and we now have six new artists na iba-iba ang music genre who we’ll introduce soon. We’ve put up our own office and we later plan to have our own recording studio. Fascinated talaga akong maging executive working behind the cameras like Wilma Galvante before sa GMA and Charo Santos sa ABS-CBN. Ever since, yun ang pangarap ko and I’m really preparing for that.”
