What did she do to prepare for the role? “We had several workshops ng cast para ihanda ang sarili namin for our respective roles. Pero ang mas higit kong pinaghandaan, yung pagpapapayat ko. Kasi, si Ms. Sunshine Cruz, grabeng sexy, o. So kailangan, hindi ako mahuli sa kapayatan niya para believable akong anak niya.”
How daring is she ready to go for the role since she will have mature scenes with Benjamin Alves who plays Joaquin, who became her boyfriend first then becomes her mom’s lover? “It depends sa kung gaano ka-daring ang ipagagawa nila sa’kin. But I trust our director, Gil Tejada, kasi hindi lang naman sa love scenes o bed scenes puede ipakita na you can do more mature roles.”
After her break up from Jake Vargas, she claims she has not had a new boyfriend from showbiz, but how come she continues to be linked to Alden Richards so Aldub fans bash her?
“I feel reluctant to answer that issue kasi kapag sinagot ko, baka sabihing ginagamit ko lang si Alden para sa promo ng aming bagong show. Kapag hindi ko naman sinagot, baka sabihing totoo and I’ll still be accused of using Alden so ang hirap.”
But how come she’s frequently seen with Alden? “Kasi good friends talaga kami. Barkada kami along with Kristoffer Martin and Rodjun Cruz. Nag-mountain climbinng pa kami together. Nung birthday ni Alden, nandun kami ni Kristoffer as surprise guests niya sa ‘Eat Bulaga’ and when he had an event sa Enchanted Kingdom, nandun din ang barkada namin at ako lang yung nag-iisang babae. We also did yung travel show na ‘Road Trip’ na ako rin lang ang girl, so friends lang talaga kami. Other than that,wala na talaga. But because of that, patuloy akong naba-bash. I told Alden about it and he said, ‘huwag mo na lang pansinin. Kasi kung papansinin mo pa, that’s what they want, attention.’ Basta I want to make it clear that I respect Alden, Maine and their love team. I also respect their fans.”She claims she’s happy now with her non-showbiz boyfriend but she doesn’t want to elaborate anymore. “Mas gusto kong tahimik na lang at yung konti lang ang nakakaalam. Despite the bashers, happy naman ako sa buhay ko, lalo ngayong may bagong akong drama series that will start airing on July 16, just before ‘Eat Bulaga’. Sana po, panoorin nyo.”
