Paulo Avelino Shares His Views On Marriage And The Secret Of His Successful Career

PAULO AVELINO is thankful to be one of Bea Alonzo’s leading men in “Kasal”, the other being Derek Ramsay. “I enjoyed making the movie with them,” he says. “They’re both very professional and love their craft so masarap silang katrabaho. Also our director, Ruel Bayani. He’s very open to collaborate with us and he respects us, giving us space to play around with our lines, kunsaan kami magiging comfortable. I’m really proud of ‘Kasal’.”

Since ‘Kasal’ is about getting married, Paulo is asked about his views on marriage. He was 19 when he joined showbiz via Starstruck 10 years ago. Now, he’s definitely much more accomplished and successful than the winner in his batch. Is he ready to settle down? “Hindi natin masasabi. Definitely not in the next five years. Dapat dumating muna yung right partner for you and there’s mutual agreement even among your respective parents. Yung walang kumokontra sa inyo. Finding the right partner means you’re compatible in all aspects in life, including the sexual aspect of your relationship. So kailangang paghandaan munang mabuti.”

When it comes to his career, no doubt it’s very successful. He is always doing a soap and right now, he’s in “Asintado”. Aside from “Kasal”, he has also finished the big-budgeted historical drama, “Heneral Goyong”, about Gen. Gregorio del Pilar due for release in September. What’s the secret of his success?
“Hindi ko rin alam. But I think it’s a matter of good timing, good luck and a lot of hard work. I love my craft very much and I always try to be very professional, with everything, including punctuality. Every project assigned to me, I give it my all. I try to go the extra mile, always giving something extra, something more.”
