Angelica Panganiban On A Tiff With JM De Guzman's Dad Who Thinks She's A Bad Influence On His Son

ANGELICA PANGANIBAN posted a message in her social account that made her followers wonder if she’s having a quarrel with JM de Guzman’s dad named Ronniel. When her adoptive mom celebrated her birthday, Angelica greeted her mom and fondly called her “my Okja”, the endearing title role character in a Korean movie which was shown by Netflix.

JM’s dad then chided Angelica for comparing her mom with Okja, who’s a pig. For Angelica, it’s somewhat a term of endearment but JM’s dad obviously is insinuating something else. This obviously peeved her and she posted in response, without specifying that it’s for JM’s dad: “Not my Family. Not my Mother. Not my Okja. Never cross that line with me. Wag ako. Pumapatol ako kapag pamilya ko nasa usapan.”“Where you lead I will follow.”

Angelica and JM have been good friends since they were paired in the sleeper indie hit, “That Thing Called Tadhana”. We’re told Star Cinema wants to pair them anew in a movie, but it seems that JM’s dad resented it when he learned that Angelica asked JM to join her and some mutual friends in a drinking session. JM’s dad posted the picture of JM with Angelica and friends and suggested that he’s in the wrong company who might be a bad influence on him as he is still recovering after two years in rehab.

This prompted a response from JM himself who posted: “Ok. You want me up in a cage, then I’ll come out in beast mode.” Then he posted another message: “If you can stay positive in a negative situation, you win.” Obviously, JM’s personal journey from being an addict to being fully clean and sober is not yet over. He needs all the help and support from family and friends to make sure he will not go backsliding. Later on, he posted an apology to his dad:

“I WAS WRONG. sorry for hurting your feelings. I'm really sorry dad. I love you.”
