Jason Abalos Optimistic That His GF Vickie Rushton Will Bag A Major Title In The Coming Bb. Pilipinas Pageant

JASON ABALOS says he has no regrets moving to the Kapuso Network and he’s now enjoying his stay with GMA-7. He’s also happy with the first show they assigned to him, the primetime romcom “The One that Got Away”.

“Maganda ang role ko as a doctor na single dad at kapatid ni Lovi Poe,” he says. “Masaya rin ako sa mga kasama ko as they welcomed me warmly at naging comfortable ako agad being a Kapuso. Lahat sila, mga baliw, kaya there’s no dull moment sa set at lagi kaming puro tatawanan. And we’re all happy kasi our program is doing well in the ratings game.”

His girlfriend, Vickie Rushton, who’s a Pinoy Big Brother graduate, is currently a candidate at the coming Bb. Pilipinas pageant and is said to be one of the most promising contenders. How come he was not present at the press presentation of the candidates when Vickie needs all the moral support she needs?

“Wala, e, may taping kasi ako sa ‘The One that Got Away’. Alam naman niya yon, and she understands. Siempre, uunahin ko muna ang trabaho ko. But at the coronation night, which is on March 18, I made sure na wala akong trabaho and I will be there. Pero tuloy-tuloy ang suporta ko sa kanya sa social media and I’m asking everyone to like her para mas malakas ang laban niya.”

What advice has he given her so far? “First and foremost, I told her not to worry too much about the title but just enjoy the experience. Her mom and I were the ones who pushed her to join Bb. Pilipinas. I’m very confident that she will bag one of the major titles sa gabing yon. She’s doing this not only for herself but also her family. Kasi ang mommy niya, bulag, tapos yung brother niya, special child, pero malakas ang fighting spirit niya sa paglaban sa buhay. Sobrang bait niya at mapagmahal sa pamilya. Her advocacy is to help persons wih disability at kapag nanalo siya, mas marami pa siyang matutulungan.”

But if Vickie would win, this would mean that they would have to delay any plans to face the altar anytime soon. “Okay lang yun. I’m willing to wait. Basta all out ang suporta ko sa kanya sa dream niyang maging beauty queen and represent our country abroad. In my heart, I already know she’s the one for me and she certainly deserves to win a major title.”
