Erik Santos Confesses He's Intimidated Performing With OPM Icons Martin Nievera, Ogie Alcasid & Regine Velasquez In The Valentine Concert, '#PAMORE'

ERIK SANTOS is the youngest among the four singers featured in StarMedia’s Valentine concert, “#PaMore”, after Martin Nievera, Ogie Alcasid and Regine Velasquez. This will be staged on February 10, 8PM, at the Mall of Asia Arena. How does Erik feel that he, known as the Prince of Pop, is now being pitted against Martin, known as the Concert King; Ogie, the Singer-Songwriter; and Regine, Asia’s Songbird?

“Intimidated ako at di agad nakapagsalita when I was told makakasama ko silang tatlo on the same stage,” he says. “I’m really beyond grateful for this chance as I respect them all so much and to be given the opportunity to sing with all of them is really a dream come true for any singer like me. I’m just happy to be still here after 15 years kasi alam nyo naman, ang daming nagsusulputang bagong singers sa reality shows. So I really wish I could last in the business just like my idols.”

“We’re actually happy to have him with us,” says Regine. “Nakasama ko na siya sa The Royals concert and he’s really such a good singer with such a strong voice and easy to work with.”

“But it’s different when you’d be performing with all of them,” says Erik. “Nakasama ko na sila individually, pero first time na silang tatlo ang kasama ko on stage. To be honest, each time na may kasama ako sa kanila, nanginginig ako sa nerbiyos. I’m really trembling. Sino ba naman ang hindi kakabahan out of sobrang excitement kung ganyang puro legends of OPM ang kasama mo?”

For their “#PaMore” Valentine show, expect great love songs from artists like the Platters, Jackson 5, Stylistics and Bread that Pinoys have learned to love through the years. “Classics na sila but you can still hear them being played on radio,” says Ogie. “But we will be singing them also with current hits and chart toppers. We will have solo numbers, also duets and group performances featuring the kind of vocal harmony that only the four of us can create. As the concert’s title says ‘PaMore’, we will really offer a lot more than what the audience can expert from us.”
