Aiko Melendez Has A New Soap, 'Wildflower', & A New Movie, 'Balatkayo', Reveals Why She Broke Up With Persian Boyfriend

AIKO MELENDEZ won a best supporting actress award playing the scheming wife of a corrupt mayor in the movie “Iadya Mo Kami”. This time, she’s now the mayor herself in the new afternoon soap, “Wildflower”, with Wendell Ramos as her husband. They’re the couple who oppressed Maja Salvador’s family so Maja will be out to take revenge on them. It starts airing on Monday afternoon.

Aiko is doing a lot of physical workout these days so it’s not surprising that she has lost a lot of weight. She has also just finished a new movie, “Balatkayo”, with Polo Ravales for BG Productions. She may be 41 but she certainly looks much younger than her age. No wonder she attracted a much younger foreign boyfriend, but she says they’ve since broken up and she’ll be loveless this coming Valentine’s Day.

“Yung mga anak ko ang ka-Valentine ko,” she says. “Si Andre, who’s a teenager na, and Marthena, who’s 9.”

We heard it’s her kids who are the reason why her lovelife didn’t prosper. “I don’t want to go into details pero siempre, basta ang mga anak ko ang concerned, sila pa rin ang mas bibigyan ko ng priority and importance in my life. May mga bagay talagang hindi mo puedeng ipilit, e.”

But how come there was a recent rumor that she’s already engaged and about to get married? “Nagulat din ako at wala akong kaalam-alam na engaged na pala ako. Yun pala, someone hacked my Facebook account at nilagay roon na engaged to be married na ako, which is not true. So nagbukas na lang ako ng ibang Facebook account after ma-hacked yung una kong account.”

What can she say about her ex-husband Jomari Yllana now being linked to Jean Garcia? “Bakit, umamin ba sila na sila na talaga? Hindi naman, e. Out of respect for Jom, ayokong mag-comment. Ang alam ko may ibang girlfriend siya, e.”
