Mother Ricky Reyes Busy As A Bee Making Sure The Asia Pacific Hairdressers & Cosmetologists 'Beauty Showdown In Manila' Event Will Be A Huge Success

MOTHER RICKY REYES is busy as a bee these days as the president of the Asia Pacific Hairdressers and Cosmetologists Association (APHCA), which will hold its 20th Hair Olympics here in Manila after last year’s successful Olympics in Taipei. This will be held on Wednesday at MOA this Wednesday, October 26.

The event, the biggest and grandest Asian hair and makeup event which is held annually in the different member countries, will bring together the crème de la crème among hairdressers and makeup artists from 18 countries. Since it started in 1997, APHCA’s membership has grown to include Australia, Brunei, Cambodia, China (Hong Kong and Macau), Indonesia, India, Japan, South Korea, Malaysia, Mongolia, Myanmar, New Zealand, Singapore, Sri Lanka, Taiwan, Thailand and the Philippines.

After winning national selection events held in their respective countries, the competitors are more than eager to surpass themselves during the jaw-dropping show entitled “Beauty Showdown in Manila”. These competitors will display their talents and expertise with wonders of creativity and precision to their creations and make a good impression on the judges and the audience as well.

The competition has two categories in which Category A is men’s cut & blow dry, avant-garde color, evening party makeup and bridal make-up. Category B is the total look competition, nail art competition and evening party hairstyle. The champion from each category will be given awards & citations. Category A for the Asia Pacific competitors will receive a trophy & citation and cash prize of P25, 000 and the first runners-up of each category will receive a trophy/citation and cash prize of P15, 000. Second runners-up of each category will also receive a trophy/citation and cash prize of P10, 000.

The grand champion will also receive a presidential trophy and cash prize of P35, 000 plus a trip to Hong Kong. Meanwhile, Category B champions will receive a trophy/citation and cash prize of P10, 000. First runners-up will also receive a trophy/citation and cash prize of P7, 000 while the second runners-up will receive a trophy/citation and cash prize of P5, 000.

International delegates, sponsors and guests are also in for a special treat from heartthrob Alden Richards as he graces the event on October 26. The most anticipated beauty event will feature seminars and workshops and a trade fair of over 50 booths featuring local and international beauty items from participating APHCA member countries. A spectacular show featuring APHCA delegation from Korea, China, Japan, Thailand and the Philippines will showcase their native cultural dances in a unique and dazzling way.

The 20th Hair Olympics, supported by the Tourism Promotions Board (TPB) through the Department of Tourism (DOT), Zen Institute, Air Asia, Skin Care Formula by Dr. Alvin, Philbeauty, Selective Professional, Pagcor and Travelpros will be at Hall 4, SMX Convention Center, Mall of Asia, Pasay City, Philippines on October 26, 2016.
