Two Local Actors, Mercedes Cabral & Jake Macapagal, Making Waves In Big Television Projects Abroad

TWO LOCAL ACTORS are currently making waves in foreign projects: Mercedes Cabral and Jake Macapagal.

Mercedes stars in the Kuwaiti soap opera, “Saq Al Bambu” (The Bamboo Stalk) and she has gained a lot of local fans there for her exotic beauty and her fine performance. She plays the role of a Filipino domestic helper working in Kuwait who falls in love with the son of her employer.

The drama series is airing on Al Rai TV and is seen not only in Kuwait but also in other countries in the Middle East, including the United Arab Emirates and Saudi Arabia. The producers are so surprised by the great response of viewers to Mercedes who is so happy that her talent is being appreciated well in another country.

Jake Macapagal is now in the HBO original fantasy series, “Halfworlds”, which is now on its second season. This is being filmed in Bangkok now and later in Jakarta. The story is about a researcher who’s trying to uncover the secret world of demons while searching for an ancient artifact that can give great power to anyone who possesses it.

Jake has previously played the lead role in the movie, “Metro Manila”, filmed here by a British filmmaker and was acclaimed internationally. Congratulations to these two Filipino actors who are bringing honor to our country.
