Richard Gutierrez' 'Ang Panday' Is The Top Rater Among The New Shows Introduced By TV5 & Viva Communications

RICHARD GUTIERREZ’ “Ang Panday” is the highest rating show among the new shows introduced by TV5 with Viva Communications. It rates 4 percent, sometimes more, and that’s high by Kapatid standards since the other new show rate anywhere from 0.7 to 1.2. It’s also getting good feedback from loyal and satisfied viewers.

No wonder Claudine Barretto is said to be disheartened because her “Bakit Manipis ang Ulap” can’t seem to find its target viewers and sobrang “manipis” ang rating. Claudine is said to be often sick so taping of the show is often packed. We just don’t know if what we heard is true: that the show is about to fold up soon. Well, it really takes sometime before a network can take off and compete with the current top TV stations.

We think Richard’s “Ang Panday” would rate more if it would be shown daily, instead of a staggered basis three times a week. TV viewing depends on the habit-forming of viewers every night and Panday’s disruptive schedule is a big deterrent to higher ratings.

As for Richard, aside from Panday, he is also back on the big screen doing an action-drama based on the Mamasapano Massacre in Maguindanao, directed by Carlo Caparas. He has also ventured into motorsports and put up his own RGutz Racing Team with partners Wheeltek Motor Sales and Kawasaki. They will compete at the 2016 Philippine Superbike Championshid scheduled on April 2 at World Trade Center.
