Dawn Zulueta On Being Paired With A Younger Leading Man Like Piolo Pascual In 'Love Me Tomorrow'

ONLY DAWN ZULUETA was present at the farewell presscon of “You’re My Home”. Her ka-love team, Richard Gomez, was absent as he’s campaigning in Ormoc City. Didn’t memories of her past with Goma return to her mind while they were taping “You’re My Home” that will soon have its final telecast? “Siempre, nanunumbalik ang nakaraan, you can’t help it,” she says. “Minsan, may lines siyang… teka, sinabi mo yan talaga sa’kin noon, a. Pero memories na lang yan. Pareho kaming may kanya-kanya ng buhay ngayon. But the memories are important kasi, like Goma, nahihirapan siyang umiyak. Bakit ako raw, ang bilis-bilis kong umiyak. Sabi ko, bakit ka nahihirapan, e ang daming memories na puedeng paghugutan? E, siya raw kasi, lahat ng bad experiences and memories niya, binura na niya. Sabi ko, dapat, hindi ganun, kasi artista ka, importante yung memories para mapaghugutan mo ng emotions when you do dramatic scenes.”

How was it working with her younger co-stars in “You’re My Home”, like Jessy Mendiola, Sam Concepcion and Paul Salas who played her children? “Walang problema kasi puro mababait sila, pati si JC De Vera. I enjoyed working with all the young stars kasi puro magagaling din sila umarte. We all support each other, I can’t complain. I’m really proud to be part of this show kasi it’s well written, the feedback from viewers is always great.”

She’s paired with Piolo Pascual in her new movie, “Love Me Tomorrow”. Does she think age doesn’t really matter when it comes to love? “Yes, what’s wrong with that. It’s only age. I think it is something we should embrace. It kind of feels like it’s taboo but I see it this way, kung wala kayong attachment with anyone or you’re free and he’s free, go for it. I’m having so much fun shooting this movie because I’m learning a lot from Piolo who’s such a gentleman, so charming and nice. I feel lucky kasi at my age, I was given this project to do naman something different. Kasi ang madalas na ginagawa ko mellow drama, mother roles, ganyan, dito ngayon, love story.”
