The film’s director, Jose Javier Reyes, made his own investigation and confirmed this in his social media account on Friday night: “Got word from the producer: it’s true. So make sure that the title of the movie on YOUR tickets is what you really want to watch. Beware of ticket swapping.”
He urged the public to check the title of the film on their tickets before they leave the ticket seller and, if there are any anomalies, take pictures and post them on social media. For the AlDub fans, he said: “Please be calm but cautious. More important, true happiness can only be obtained by sincere and honest actions. ALDUB NATION, be above this."
SM Cinemas later admitted that there was a mistake due to the high volume of tickets purchases and apologized for what happened. Still, some folks questions as to why there are no incidents of ticket swapping in the case of the other entries.
Despite the cheating, though, “My Bebe Love” remains to be the number one movie in the MIFF, followed by “Beauty & the Bestie”, then “Haunted Mansion”, “All You Need is Pag-ibig”, “Buy Now Die Later”, “Walang Forever”, “Honor they Father” and “Nilalang”.
