Susan Roces' Acting In 'Ang Probinsyano' Gets Praised And Daughter Sen. Grace Poe Is So Proud Of Her Mom

SUSAN ROCES is gaining raves for her portrayal of Lola Flora in “Ang Probinsyano” and guess who’s very proud of her. No one else but her own daughter Sen. Grace Poe. “I’m really proud of my mom,” she says. “She’s a true movie queen who also acts very well. Even then, bilib na talaga ako sa kanila ng father ko kaya there was a time na nangarap din akong maging child star. Na-cast ako noon sa isang ‘Totoy Bato’ movie, pinagbigyan ako ng papa ko. Pero soon after that, na-realize kong mas gusto kong mag-focus na lang ako sa pag-aaral ko at hindi talaga ako pang-showbiz.”

When Sen. Grace visited her late papa’s resting place at the North Cemetery the day before All Saints Day, she was mobbed by the fans of her dad who also went there to pay their respect to FPJ. “Hindi ko akalaing kahit hindi pa araw mismo ng Todos Los Santos, ang dami ng taong nagdala ng mga bulaklak at kandila. Nakakatuwa talagang ang dami pa ring nagmamahal sa kanya kahit ilang taon na ang nakalipas since he left us.”

How does she feel that DNA tests looking for her supposed relatives have produced no positive results? “E, hindi nag-match, e. But I’m not giving up hope. I’m also not giving up the fight against my detractors who want me to be disqualified from the presidential race. I have to remain strong not just for yung mga ampon like me, but also for the 20 million voters who elected me as a senator in 2013 kasi alam nilang hindi ko naman yun inilihim kahit kailan. In case I get an unfavorable ruling, other foundlings might later be regarded as second class citizens when even international treaties state that foundlings retain the citizenship of the country where they were found. So my prayer is for the magistrates to be fair naman sana sila not just to me but sa lahat ng mga ampong gaya ko.”
