Let's Pray For The Repose Of The Soul Ot Tenor Nolyn Cabahug

OUR CONDOLENCES to the bereaved family of tenor Nolyn Cabahug who succumbed to his six-year battle with kidney disease. He’s been confined at the National Kidney Institute and friends are even organizing a benefit concert for him, “Bayanihan Para sa Tenor ng Bayan”, scheduled last night, but it served as a eulogy for him as he already passed on last Monday, November 2, at the age of only 59 years old. He was born in Jaro, Iloilo on March 19, 1956.

Nolyn is a graduate of the UP College of Music and was part of the UP Concert Chorus. He’s best remembered as Crisostomo Ibarra in the opera version of

“Noli Me Tangere” and for his role as Alfredo in the Tagalog adaptation of the opera classic, “La Traviata”. He has won many awards for his singing both here and abroad. It was his daughter, Marian Cabahug-Unterberg, who posted the report of his passing on social media: "Thank you all for praying. Papa has left. And is serving in a higher calling. He has been called to sing and give praise to our Creator personally.”
Let’s all pray for the repose of his soul.
