John Lloyd Cruz Back On The Big Screen With Two New Films This November, 'Honor They Father' & 'A Second Chance'

THE FANS of John Lloyd Cruz have been wondering when he's going to have another movie since his last one, "The Trial", was shown early last year yet. Well, we've got good news for them. John Lloyd will be seen in two consecutive films: "Honor They Father" and "A Second Chance". Both movies will be shown in November. "Honor They Father" will be the opening film in the Cinema One Digitals Filmfest. Directed by Erik Matti, John Lloyd plays the father of a girl who is kidnapped after he got involved in a scam and his victims want to get back at him.

This film got much acclaim when it was shown at the Toronto International Film Festival last September. It stars Meryll Soriano as his wife and Tirso Cruz III as his dad. We won't be surprised if "Honor They Father" will also be chosen as the replacement for "Hermano Puli" in the coming Metro-Manila Filmfest. The screening committee can't argue that it's been shown in other film festivals since two years ago, they allowed then the Nora Aunor entry, "Thy Womb", to be part of the filmfest when it has also been shown in various filmfests abroad.

The next movie of John Lloyd will be "A Second Chance", the sequel to the big hit 2007 movie, "One More Chance" by Director Cathy Garcia Molina. Molina directs him and Bea Alonzo once more in the sequel where he and Bea will reprise their roles as Popoy and Basha. This time they are already married to each other in the story which will portray the ups and down in their experiences as a married couple. The last time John Lloyd and Bea did a movie was in the hit 2012 movie, "The Mistress", so the fans of their love team must surely have been missing them a lot by now.
