Megan Young's Two Current Shows, 'Starstruck 6' & 'Marimar', Both Rating High & Full Of Commercials

MEGAN YOUNG has reason to be very happy as her two primetime shows on GMA-7, “Starstruck 6” before “24 Oras” and “Marimar” after “24 Oras”, are both rating very well. Her hosting in “Starstruck 6” is getting great feedback and so is her acting in the title role of “Marimar”.

“Both shows are off to a good start,” she says. “Parehong umpisa pa lang, maganda na ang feedback, puno ng commercials and mataas ang ratings. Sana magtuloy-tuloy and we promise to do all our best to give quality entertainment to the viewers every single day of both shows.”

The pilot week of “Starstruck 6” is very entertaining in that it showed the difference between those who joined Starstruck years ago and the way they look now. Most of them were really transformed for the better by fame and stardom, including Megan who was so “neneng-nene” then but now exudes so much class and elegance. The Final 14 were chosen last Friday night but there’s a twist, as they’re now called Dream 14. There’s another group called Believe 14 who didn’t make in the so-called Dream 14 but can still catch up and be a finalist if the viewers and judges would save them, like Faith Da Silva (daughter of former actor Dennis Da Silva who’s still in prison).

Among the current contestants of the new season, the standouts among the girls are Klea Pineda (who looks like a young Hilda Koronel), Mariam Al Alawi (sister of child star Mona Louise Rey), Koreen Medina (who has joined beauty pageants) and Annalyn Baro (from Ormoc, it’s her first time to come to Manila.)
Among the guys, those who impressed audiences include Avery Paraiso (a Fil-Irish guy who used to be part of Boy Abunda’s Not Your Ordinary Boys and Girls song-and-dance group at Casino Filipino), Marion Garcia (from Angeles, Pampanga) and Elyson de Dios (a Piolo Pascual lookalike from Cebu).

Meantime, in “Marimar”, Megan as Marimar and Tom Rodriguez as Sergio have gotten married officiated by a simple solemnizing officer. Megan doesn’t know the wedding is actually fake. She is introduced to Sergio’s family and his dad wants them to have a grand church wedding. Jaclyn Jose as Angelica will do everything to stop the wedding and even had Megan kidnapped, but all the villains get a big surprise when Marimar still manages to appear in church in time for the wedding.
