Acclaimed Historical Epic 'Heneral Luna' Extended In 70 Theaters Due To Insistent Public Demand

WE’RE SO happy for “Heneral Luna”. When it opened last week in 100 theaters, it only grossed P3 million on opening day. But due to the great reviews and positive word of mouth endorsement (satisfied viewers are applauding heartily and very vocal about their admiration after each screening), the earnings on the first day of its second week of showing more than doubled than it’s original opening day gross in its first week.

Not only that. At the start of its second week of showing last Wednesday, 52 theaters were taken away from the movie and only 48 theaters remained. But now, because of a social media campaign to keep it showing in theaters, the movie has gained more theaters again and it now has a total of 70 theaters. Congrats to Director Jerrold Tarog and lead actor John Arcilla!

By all means, don’t miss watching this well crafted historical movie that is definitely an eye-opener. It’s also being shown with English subtitles in some theaters, like Rockwell and Greenbelt. Its producers want to do the film bio of “Gen. Gregorio del Pilar” next, so here’s hoping they’ll really be able to recover their investment in “Heneral Luna” for them to be able to bankroll their next worthy project.
