MAX COLLINS is happy to be the leading lady of Sef Cadayona in "Juan Tamad". "After the heavy dramas ‘Pahiram ng Sandali, 'Inamorata' and 'Kailan Tama ang Mali' that I did, welcome break for me ang fantasy-comedy na 'Juan Tamad'," she says. "I play Marie Guiguinto, Juan's love interest. Isa ako ritong over achiever who graduated Magna Cum Laude. I was really surprised when this show was offered to me kasi, even if I’m in ‘Bubble Gang’, hindi naman ako really identified with comedies but with dramas. Never ko ring na-imagine na one day, magiging magkapareha pala kami ni Sef. But now, I’m really enjoying doing ‘Juan Tamad’ and Sef is just perfect for the title role. Magaan siyang katrabaho at puro comedians ang kasama namin sa show kaya it’s a happy set. Kasama rin namin dito si Miss Melanie Marquez, who is urging me to join a beauty pageant. Sabi niya, sumali ka kasi you have what it takes to win. But I told her ayoko talaga at natatakot ako as I don’t want to join competitions.”
She’s glad to continue getting wholesome roles after some people said she went daring and sexy when she posed for FHM recently. She even made it as one of the top ten cover girls in their Sexiest Woman Search.
“Nakakatuwa talagang to be part of a show like ‘Juan Tamad’ na para sa kid viewers. Maganda ang concept ng show at nagtuturo ng positive values sa audience.”
Isn’t she worried that Sef’s Girlfriend sa Dilim, Andrea Torres, might get jealous with her? “Friends kami and she knows trabaho lang ito. Also, sila ba talaga? Sabi nila, hindi naman daw, e.”
Andrea is coming up soon with a sexy coffee table book after she placed No. 2 in FHM Sexiest Woman search. Would she agree to do a similar coffee table book? “Hindi siguro. Tama na yung one time na sexy pictorial ko. I’m not really closing my doors ha, but as of now, lalo ngayon that I’m doing a show for kids, so bawal muna ang daring roles. At this time, very active din kasi ako sa church so iwasan muna yung pagpapa-sexy.”
