“My last show kasi with TV5 was a comedy with Robin Padilla at matagal na akong hindi nagdrama kaya napasabak lang talaga ako sa drama here in ‘Marimar’,” she says. “Bale comeback ko ito sa Kapuso Network, where I did ‘Ang Iibigin ay Ikaw’ and its sequel some years ago. And it's nice to be working with Megan Young for the first time. Magaling siya.”
Last week ended with the baby Marimar becoming the ward of an old couple, Nova Villa as Cruz and Tommy Abuel as Pancho. They will not hide the truth from Marimar that she is an “ampon”. The girl grows up with a very positive and cheerful attitude, with her wacky dog Fulgoso always at her side.
We ask Nova if she saw the Thalia version of “Marimar” and she said she did not. “Sobrang busy ako sa trabaho ko noon kaya di ko napanood. And sabi naman ni Direk Dominic Zapata, okay lang daw yun kasi what we’re presenting is a new version of ‘Marimar’,” she says.
Since she has plenty of scenes with Megan Young, how does she find the first Pinay Miss World? “Nakasama ko na siya noong araw sa ‘Kokey’ ng ABS-CBN. Mga eight years ago na. Supporting pa lang ang role niya noon. Bago kami nag-start ng taping ng ‘Marimar’, naisip ko, ano kaya ngayong Miss World na siya, nagbago kaya? But when she first saw me sa taping, yumakap agad sa’kin saying ‘Tita Nova’. So alam kong she’s the same Megan na down to earth. Pero kung noon, mahiyain siya, tahimik lang, mas may confidence na siya ngayon, pero humble pa rin sa kabila ng tagumpay niya as a beauty queen.”
This week, Megan Young as Marimar and Tom Rodriguez as Sergio will finally appear on screen in “Marimar”, after “24 Oras”.
